Aloisi Our Marquee and Captain for 08/09?

'The Camel' - the thing is, the way you've been acting so far has cause this view that you are a troll - so you have only yourself to blame there. What do you expect by coming out of the blue with news that Aloisi may leave for a team that may not even happen yet - news that is reportably one month old!

That conflicts with Aloisi settling his family here, nor has there been any news of him buying a house in QLD. Not to mention he has publicly said that he is happy here, and it's been mad obvious he'd like to go the the Asian Cup.

Add that to your posts about how Bluetougue wouldn't be filled up in a Grand Final unless it was against Jets or Sydney, and not many are going to 'respect' your views. Stop trolling, or appearing like one. Lestways stop spewing such questionable information without sources and 'pot stirring', as you have denied you have done.

Add the fact he was quick to mention that Ty Owens wasn't in the Mariners Academy in the Thread about Contracts (tried to prove or disprove that but can't find any details of whose in the Academy) & that Ty was playing for a NEWCASTLE team in the Northern NSW State League, and mentioned the Newcastle team (Phoenix)... makes you wonder whether The Camel is closer to Newcastle than the Gold Coast.

Do Northern NSW State League teams play up north as far as the Qld. border - or close to it? Other wise, how would The Camel know of this info?

I'm open minded about the possibility that JA may move onto some other club, even the GC should they get the nod to proceed next season or the season after. He is a professional and would have to look closely at any reasonable deal.

My main scepticism about the story is the person providing it here. My reason is that someone supposedly located on the GC knows a lot about the Newcastle State League teams.....why would someone up there care two hoots about that, if they don't seem to play anywhere near there, or do they? Different if young Ty was linked to a local State League team in or around the GC.

But if you say there's some legs to the rumour about the GC story then I'd accept it..the Mariners will have to look at ways of providing JA and his family the best possible deal, and the things he'd be looking for. I'd suspect it's not 100% all about the money either.

Speaking of Aloisi, does anyone know exactly how tall he is, based on seeing him in real life ofcourse, he is constantly referred to as "the big striker" and yet the stas of his height vary immensely accross the internet, from 5"10 to 6"3...so, im curious if anyone actually knows the truth?

I have lived on the Gold Coast since August this year hence my knowledge of the Northern Nsw state league and Newcastle football in general. Prior to that I lived in Newcastle and worked in Gosford. Ask Aloisi himself if the has bought property on the GC hinterland, i thought it was pretty common knowledge that occured before he signed for the Mariners. I you recall to when the Roar first tabled him a contract in pre season that was pretty readily mentioned quite a bit. Even in the Newcastle and Sydney papers.

I never siad that John himself has said that he would play for the GC there was just a qutoe from him advocating the team be included in expansion a while ago and the Guy running the bid up here has said a heap of times that he would try and get past Socceroos to come here and the first name he mentions in Aloisi. All i said was that if the GC are in for 08 and Aloisi is off contract expect the GC to try and bring him North.
