If you go into any final thinking it's going to be an easy task you deserve a loss.

The advantage we carry is that this is just another in a list of finals games we have played this season so we shouldn't be overawed.

I can see whomever scores first taking this one.

We didn't go into the NJ game or AU games at the end of the season thinking they'd be an easy task. We're not going to do it this week.

Interesting to watch the MV-WP game. Nix parked the bus all game - they were clearly playing for a draw with the intent to bring it home in front of a home crowd. Sure, smart tactics, can't deny that. MV took a huge number of shots that game but I don't think they tested the GK once.

Just an interesting comparison - I don't think parking the bus is in our vocabulary this season. We chose to go out to win it, despite the short turnaround and it being the 3rd match in 9 days. Even when we were 2-1 up, we didn't park the bus - we clearly wanted a 3rd to settle it.

Such a champion mindset that has been instilled in the team.

It's an easy sell not to park the bus when we suck at it. :D

I swear every time we tried it early in the year we'd leak at least one and often a couple of goals.

Now we just keep on attacking, it's harder for the opposition to generate shots when the ball's up their end anyway.

I tend to think that the problem with parking the bus, is the opponent only needs a split second of space to score - and if you're inviting the ball to be around your goal a lot, you're inviting a single slipup.

In saying that, we're perfectly comfortable with starting the match off without much possession, but not by parking the bus.

You're also inviting bad luck - like deflections. I hate bus parking.

Mind you, there are times when it's justified. About two years ago my 45s team were playing a semi against a younger and much faster team on the big pitch out at Mangrove Mountain. We'd already been beaten twice in the season by them and were wary of letting their (superfast) wingers in behind.

So we went at them like maniacs from the start - were lucky to get an early goal - then completely abandoned all ambition in their half. We just got everyone back behind the ball and didn't start closing them down until they were past the centre circle.

It was quite amusing to sense their growing frustration as they struggled to play through us (something they didn't usually have to do with such fast wide men). They started shooting from miles out, arguing with each other, and we scored a second in the last five minutes once they'd lost all cohesion.

Old age and treachery will always beat youth and skill.

Any plans for a march?.
No march, the plan was to go drifters and enter through the western gate but an event happening there on the day has stopped that. Also, kibble park isn't an option as our march will most likely clash with the coves march so it will be too crowded on the eastern side especially since YA won't get our own gate to enter like last year. That might be changed though if sydney don't do a march but that is very unlikely. IF we make the gf there should be a big one
