ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

BS he isn't good, we missed him sorely last season.  There's a massive hole just in behind the front line.

Of course, we need to remember that he's an attacking mid, not a striker - despite Lawrie's stubbor insistence upon putting him in as striker.  He worked harder than just about anybody on the team.

No Kwassie, No jedi - no midfield workhorse.  Well, aside from Gumps, when he gets a run.

Anyway, sometimes you can't really compare a player in one team compared to another - it's as much about how they fit in as their own ability (although we'd like to believe a top player can 'fit in' anywhere, that isn't always the case) - remember Mori?  He sucked playing for anybody but us.

I think he jumped before he was pushed when he went to NZ.

Last season we had Petrovski Simon and MCAllister (who showed some promise but subsequently didnt shine)  up front, now we have Mrdja and Kwassimodo (both shocking in front of the goal), thankfully Simon is still with us. Itwas a mistake to lose Sasho.
As for the hole behind the strikers, I agree with you-i've never understood why everyone raved over Hutchinson.
As for him being a good  AM, lets see where McKinna puts him - if its striker, then its been a waste of time hiring him. (Whats he like as a fullback, there should be some openings there:)

As for jedinak, people need to stop lamenting and get over it: he's gone, he's not coming back, he's on to bigger and better things. Management now have to get a quality replacement.

I'm not sure he got so little game time becuase he did/didnt gel. In his favour, it would be hard to pull Smeltz off in favour of AK.

Actually he is a striker. He even ended up being top scorer when playing for Northern Spirit and Lawrie brought him here as a striker.
His poor finishing saw him switched to the wing where he had some success.  Personally I prefer him on the flank where he can use his excellent pace.

He didn't disgrace himself when he came on against Kawa and derserves another run.

Mori on the other hand was a brilliant striker....far superior to any Striker we have had so far but remember he was 35 yo when we got him (and at 36yo in his 2nd spell looked spent). I'm pretty sure he is the highest scorer in the history of the old NSL.

Mori scored 16 in the final season, alongside Disco Nik who scored 14 and Despotovski who scored 12.

Also keep in mind that he played in Germany in 96/97.

You have to admit though, Serious, that Adam plays the ball way better than you can or could have. So does that make you 'exxxxxtra spesh-ul'.

At what point in time have I ever admitted to being anywhere near being remotely decent at football??  Never.

Kwasnik makes his living from the sport.... you'd expect some consistency (before anyone shoots me down, note the bolding of that word and what I've previously said about the boy - he's brilliant when he acts on instinct) in his first touch and general all round ability on the ball, surely??
