ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I must say though comparing Kwassie to Cacceras is a bit like comparing a Ferrari to a GoGo Mobile!!

too true - kwassie's goalscoring record and strike rate for our club is way more superior

Touche!

In the fair dinkum department though I reckon he may do Ok in ACL. The way he plays ie. unpredictably may suit in Asia. He doesn't know what he is going to do next so how on earth the opposition will is beyond me! Might just unsettle the regimented and structured style of play?

He's a muppet really.

I'd love him to prove me wrong and the occassional decent goal he has scored does occassionally raise an eyebrow..along the lines of "was that really Kwas" but basically he is a player with some skill but zero composure.

Google Carlton Palmer to get some idea!!

I like Kwas as opposed to the majority of HAL players who can't kick a ball straight and control it first time. No doubt he can be frustrating and f**k up a number of attacking movements, he's not on his own there.

The guy is an enigma and I don't mind that. If the trade off is, he's get's it horribly wrong ten times for the one time he produces a brilliant pass or flick or goal, that'll do me. He has attacking flair and the odd flash of brilliance and that's what we are sorely missing in our league.

players with zero composure dont lead a clubs all time goalscoring record

Agree. As well, if hutcho and jedi didnt kick most of their passes trying to match his sprint down the sideline, too long down the field, or over his head and out, he would have had plenty more goals.

He'd have plenty more goals if he could grasp the concept of keeping your head down and over the ball. Alas he doesn't and is shithouse

He is a good player at this level and his goalscoring record for us shows this

While admirable, this is the sort of  blind loyalty that left us stuck with McKinna (Remember the cries of "In lawrie we trust"/"He got us to 3 finals" etc)
There is a reason he got little game time across the ditch, he's no bloody good.

BS he isn't good, we missed him sorely last season.  There's a massive hole just in behind the front line.

Of course, we need to remember that he's an attacking mid, not a striker - despite Lawrie's stubbor insistence upon putting him in as striker.  He worked harder than just about anybody on the team.

No Kwassie, No jedi - no midfield workhorse.  Well, aside from Gumps, when he gets a run.

Anyway, sometimes you can't really compare a player in one team compared to another - it's as much about how they fit in as their own ability (although we'd like to believe a top player can 'fit in' anywhere, that isn't always the case) - remember Mori?  He sucked playing for anybody but us.
