ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Hehehehehehehehe.  No.  No freakin' way man.

Driving in East Asia should really be reserved for East Asians only, and foolhardy foreigners who do not value their life anymore.

Still, the thought of tearing it up on a Chinese expressway with a drunken Bear in the back seat...... once in a lifetime indeed.  :p

There is cheap tickets for Beijing at the moment. Cathy Pacific $1027 inc taxes. Look at Flight Centre home page and search for flights around 15th March.

Shaz and I are looking at the possibility of going, (don't add us to the list yet!). If we go, it would be around 14/3 to 19/3.

I have a couple of questions:

1. What's the easiest process to get a Visa?
2. When do you buy the match tickets? (At the stadium?).
3. What other 'gotchas' are there?

Graham

1).  Download the Chinese Visa Application Form from their Australian Embassy website.  Fill it out and send it away through a travel agency so it is insured and registered if the worst happens.....

2).  No idea yet, hoping to have an allocation beforehand.

3).  None really - the yuan is really good to the dollar, China is a ludicrously cheap place to do just about everything..... about the only thing I can think of is that it will be quite cold at that time of year.  Mid to high single figure temperatures, maybe a bit lower at night.

Bulldog - bestflights.com.au and jetabroad.com.au have the same prices, but you can actually book online with them right then and there.  ;D

Bridge Leaves Sydney For China

SYDNEY FC striker Mark Bridge has joined Chinese outfit Tianjin Teda on a four-month loan deal to play with the Super League team during the upcoming Asian Champions League.

The 23-year-old is already in China and underwent a medical exam on Tuesday. He will rejoin the Sky Blues at the start of July.

"It's a great opportunity for Mark and we are confident that the experience he will gain over the coming months will benefit not only him, but Sydney FC when we begin our next Hyundai A-League campaign later this year," said Sydney chief executive Stefan Kamasz.

Bridge looks set to make his debut for Tianjin when the Champions League kicks off next month and is likely to line up against Australia's Central Coast Mariners in the second match of the competition on March 18.

Tianjin have been drawn in Group H, which also includes Japan's Kawasaki Frontale and South Korea's Pohang Steelers.

We are most likely not.  Will either get a taxi back to Beijing straight after the game, or drink the night away in an ex-pat/24 hour bar and get an early train.  ;D

Anyone know of any good places to stay in Beijing?

Chaoyang District (Gongti Bei Lu, Sanlitun, anywhere in between the 2nd and 4th ring roads) would be your best bets.  Close to the rest of us and the best nightlife district.

Asiarooms.com, expedia.com.au - try your luck there.  We are booked into the Fortuneland International Hotel, 38 Baiziwan Road from the 17th until the 20th.

This might end up being appropriate......

The whole things daft
We don't know why
We have to laugh
Or else we'll cry
Hutcho is shit, and our captain is slow
And here we are in the f*cking snow
