One positive, elite level name pronunciation from the ground announcer. I was rubbing my hands with glee when I saw some 800 syllabul Thai name come up as a sub but was disappointed, @priorpeter you nailed it!
I don’t think anyone will understand the heart palpitations in my booth when that board went up.
Theerathon Bunmathan off, replaced by Phitiwat Sukjitthammakul?
It was fun.

I have no idea what Kuol is doing, or what's he's been told to do but it's not working very well at all.
what he was doing was praying for someone else to back him up
against the 5 defenders he faced time and again .brandtman is a child at 10 .edo is another body with no anticipation .

Bit harsh. Not sure hate is justified. (My kid is a goalkeeper so I have a bit more tolerance these days).

100% his own doing the send off. It's really a bad read to think he can win that ball.
I usually am too mate, also with any new signing I give them a genuine chance before passing judgement. But that judgement error was just as criminal as the first goal. Imo, worse. Games gone in an instant. Stay in your box, realise the fastest CB in the country is less 10mtrs away tracking the striker. Back him to hold him up.

Agree fully with how the scenario played out. The send off is all on him. I'm even ok with passing judgement early. He got caught in a similar position against the bergers.

I don't rate him and was a bit miffed we signed him. Just think hate is a little much.

Got up at 3 am to watch the full replay without knowing the score-I get up at 4 am on workdays so no big deal.Outclassed by a well coached team packed with lots of non Thai players including two decent Aussies,Good and Scougall. This level of competition is beyond the resources of A-League teams but a good chance for young players to test themselves and play some international football.

Pavlesic certainly had a brain fart but as a young keeper this is going to happen.I thought Warshawksy did well when he came on.Paull has a lot of haters here but his performance was creditable and at least he realised the threat of the two attackers for the first goal and tried to block the shot.Big Brian had a mixed game and maybe was overcompensating with an inexperienced CB beside him.

Roux had to work with Theo who had one of his "Theo is shit" games and both of them had troubles with the big Brazilian LB Jefferson Tabernas who was very physical as well as very skilful.Mauragis may have been caught out for the first goal but what a cracker he scored-very little backlift and being fouled from behind.BTW let's not call him a scummer-he is wearing our colours so give him that respect.

Tapp is such a worker, sometimes caught out of position but puts in the effort to rectify that and he should have a good season.Steele is similar though injury prone.I haven't seen that much to impress me with Alfie Mac and perhaps he is similar to the Tapp and Steele in how he plays but not as good as them-he may be a work in progress as Doka and Tulio were at the start of their CCM careers.

Brandtman is very young and tried hard but it is difficult at this level for a young player to impose himself. He did make some nice jinking runs but then lost the ball or could not provide a telling pass.Doka looked a bit off with his passing early but grew into the game. His versatility and skill were one of the bright features of last season and he still should have a good season though will be heavily marked ( and fouled) in the A-League season.Buriram had done their homework and were all over him. Feijoa showed passion and commitment when he came on but I am not sure he is at the level of Doka or Tulio as far as his skills from what I have seen.Kuol started very positively but as the Thais came into the game he was very isolated and peripheral.Edmondson was sluggish in his limited minutes and Ngor has little ime to show his wares.

Vuka Faz, Hall, Niz, Balard, Tulio appreciation day

Not one of those holes has been adequately filled but The scummer might score a couple of bangers but his defence is scummer like.

Ok Sains for Hall is probably only proper replacement but he is now injured.

What other AL side starts Pav and Paull?
What aspiring top 4 side starts Theo and Kuol?
None
Dick has gutted the title winners and it shows.
Top 6 maybe as we have a rubbish keeper and no AL strikers.
See the players who we sold are playing at a higher level than their replacements
Is Alfie from the 3rd tier really better than someone local?
Max from Temu so far

Theo was very poor. He is back to 20 mins cameo's on that performance.
I agree but at the same time he was so isolated and up against multiple players. A function of both teams tactics and asking a lot of him (or anyone else) to do anything in that situation.

Warshawksy did well when he came on, his to lose now.

Give Steele and Tapp a run in the middle, or consider shifting to a diamond with Migs at the point. Alfie needs a spell. His negativity and constant passing backwards looks like a player looooow on confidence.

I thought Mauragis showed the most attacking intent out of anyone in the entire team. Yes, he lost the ball a few times trying to take people on, but when you're down by 2 goals you have to have a go.

It will click, it'll just take time

I agree, I was worried with our start last year but had faith in the spine we had. That spine is no longer here. Could be a battle for the wooden trophy after what was dished out last night. Our Mid is practically invisible, Tapp works hard but there is no one who can move us forward and connect with the front third. I watched good runs into the box in the second half and the player with the ball either didn’t see it or wasn’t capable of distributing it. Scoring is going to be our biggest challenge this season and based on our defence we will need to and a lot.

Dick didn’t sell anybody did he?, they were all freebies weren’t they?, as for Alfie , his 2 inches taller than Nizz and a quarter as talented

I know I shouldn't mention his name but also Torres could go on that list -not a team player but once he settled in could score goals

I saw it very similarly to booney's analysis and didn't feel that last night pointed to the wooden spoon in the ALM at all - and we WON'T be 0-4 after four rounds this season. It does tip us towards bottom four in the ACLE East group though.
We could even go out 0-8 in the ACLE and still get the three-peat in the ALM!

Rightly, Jacko was pretty unhappy with the performance but I think that was a better hit-out than any pre-season friendly we could put together (and we ARE still pre-season while Buriram are 7 weeks in, not forgetting continentally they they were ACL, not 2nd-tier last time too).
I was pleasantly surprised with how Paull went and Mauragis' screamer was worth the price of admission. We wondered last year where the goals were going to come from and the answer was "everywhere!".
The catering debacle though...
