I would honestly like him to prove Newcastle wrong and score a lot of goals for the remainder of the season.
If not i would have thought the demand for Viduka not only in Europe but in Asia would be great and he would earn a lot more there.
Good luck to the Knights if they get him. Still a quality striker.

Cristiano rejects reports he will be leaving Adelaide United

February 17, 2009
BRAZILIAN striker Cristiano denies he is to make a rapid exit from embattled Adelaide United, but the immediate future of his countryman Cassio is less clear.

Alongside end-of-his-tether coach Aurelio Vidmar, Cassio is facing the retribution of Football Federation Australia for an angry gesture to the Telstra Dome crowd after he was sent off during Melbourne's 4-0 waltz.
Both coach and player have submitted responses to the allegations of misconduct, with the verdict to be known on Wednesday.

Cassio is already suspended for this Saturday's preliminary final against Queensland, and he may yet be banned from a possible grand final appearance.

Vidmar faces a fine or touchline ban, which could leave match-day tactical advice in the hands of his ambitious deputy Phil Stubbins.

The Reds put on a face of unity on Tuesday as they trained together for the first time since the loss to the Victory.

Following the session, Cristiano flatly denied reports that he was all set to leave United at season's end due to disillusionment at the hotly-debated exit of countryman Diego, who has since signed with Wellington Phoenix.

"No it's not true. I'm very happy here in this club and my family is very happy in Adelaide, there's no reason to leave the club, I like the club," Cristiano said.

"Last week there's been a lot of things in the newspapers about leaving the club but it's not true.

"I have one more year on my contract and I think the club is happy with me and I think they want me."

Having been played up front on his own for much of the season despite always saying that he is better suited as the second of two strikers, Cristiano suggested he was looking for the club to recruit accordingly.

"I prefer to play with two strikers, that is true," he said.

"At the beginning of the season we tried, with me and (Paul) Agostino, but Agostino got injured and after that they played me alone, but I like to play with two strikers.

"I think for me it is much better, and for the team we play a little more forward, we maybe can score more goals.

"But now it is very difficult because players get injured, players get suspended, but I prefer to play with two strikers, yes."

Adelaide are fighting to avoid a straight sets exit at the hands of Queensland, who do not possess a good record against the Reds despite playing a similarly speedy game to Melbourne.

"They play a little bit similar like Melbourne, they play the ball very well, but you have to mark shirts, don't give the space and win the ball," Cristiano said.

"Melbourne have a very good team, they have passion, they play the ball, wait for the hole on the pitch and score."

I think it's bollocks that Viddie and Cassio are being reprimanded for what they did and said, but Tiatto, Muscat etc get away week after week after week.

Hasnt Viduka always said he would come back to finish up in Melb?

By going to the Knights, he ensures they get a fee if/when he goes to the 2nd Melb club.

May also only be ambassadorial. But the reports out of newcastle were suggesting he would be heading home. Interesting archie saying yesterday that we want to head to europe to have a chance at world cup, he may simply be about to be pushed if victory can get hold of dukes.

Nick Bianco has sold half of AU to I think both Glenn Cooper of Coopers bear fame and Gordon Pickard who owns fairmont homes have both bought 25% each.

Pickard used to own AU before Bianco took over.
