ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Interesting discussion on the Optus Daily Kick Off this morning show about African football, with an African expert. Comments in conclusion, word is getting (from people who are in the know apparently) that FA CEO James Johnson will take up the role as Sec Gen FIFA immediately after this tournament.

Wow, that would be massive.

A massive loss for us and a massive foot in the FIFA door

So does that mean DGB will be his replacement at FA.

Stajic just doesn't seem to want to see anything through to full completion. Have a feeling he's a "do the job until I look good" coach. Great career focus but not what you particularly want in a gaffer. Get Glory off the foot of the table ala Mariners when he came, and then bail for the next stepping stone.
I'm sure there's reasons and explanations, but just doesn't look good.

Mate he took the phillipines to the WC. They'll never win it so what more is he going to do there?

I still think he could do better than Perth

He needed us after being 'let go' by FFA but is proven now. Hope for his sake he aims higher, but can definitely see him ending up in WA

I agree. He has showed his worth in women’s football. Could get a great job at a big club in Europe leading a women’s team.

It would be far more exciting than Perth and you would be exposed to the men’s program at that club. Fantastic development opportunities.

Or if he prefers coaching international football then this is a good time to let it be known he is on the market at the end of a major tournament cycle

Yeah great, he got a lot of firsts, what has it done really though? It's a promising beginning but it's a job incomplete IMO.
Shrewd career management, you can't blame him. Making the World Cup and the Asian Cup Semi-Finals has boosted his reputation. He can keep toiling away but the best outcome is incremental improvement, and a real risk that they stagnate or go back slightly and the fact he made giant strides with them initially gets lost. Best to make hay while the sun shines.

Same when he left us, takes us from spoon to 3rd running on the smell of an oily rag and he is seen as a genius. But always a risk that with only a meagre budget to play with, we fall away quickly again, so cash out at what he thought was going to be the top. Mind you, whatever offers he thought were going to land in his lap when he left us clearly didn't eventuate.
