ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

exciting for the league but what an uninspiring drab looking logo
hopefully its just a quick thing put together not the real deal

Yeah I remember reading on one of the news sites about their launch that it is just a temporary logo

thank god for that, had a feeling that was the case - i hope they use a lighter shade of blue though, i dont want them having the same colour strip as us!

The logo is only temp.

I think Victory is hoping the FFA schedule melb teams matches not clashing. IE victory one week, other melb team the next. Would be good policy from the ffa. I think melb walk up fans would go to both teams matches. If one team is doing well it would probably get extra blow ins, but i think the new melbourne team could start up with similar crowd figures if the ffa does fixutres that way.

I like Clive Palmer. His ambition is matched only by his commitment and ease with which he can put in place the structure for complete success.

Is it arrongance when our Lyall speaks of CCMFC becoming the centre of football excellence?
Of course not. It is ambition, a goal.

There is a difference between being ambious, humble and plain outright Grandeur with his outrageous statement that they were out to win in their first season.
No, he is cocky. Lyall would never be like that - he is down to earth.

that is true
i mean he isnt going to say "were hoping to come fourth"... set the bar high, nothing wrong with his comments although he does show off his cash a bit much

If clubs dont want to win the title whats the point in entering the league in the first place

yeah i dont think the best way to start of the club would be to say "hopefully by the end of the season we are fighting to avoid the wooden spoon and if all goes to plan we will be bankrupt within two years" but still over cocky

It is his job to talk up the club for the next 18 months to build excitment and cred with the GC community.

Thats right, he needs to sell it. If you think he is cocky now, wait untill you've heard everything he says between now and start of 2009 - 2010 season. You will downright hate the guy and hopefully the GC will absolutely love him. Talk it up i say!!

*whispers*  South Melbourne ftw!!!  :p

fark orf.

Oh come on, their pre-season game last year was more than worthy of inclusion in the column for "why this fixture would cause the Daily Telegraph into overload" mode...... imagine _three_ regular season games doing the same thing??    Anything to piss off those idiots is fine by me.  :p
