ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Just a sugestion Shaun:-
Start a Mariner`s diary thread on here telling everyone what the Mariners are proposing & what they have done.
ie: June: 1st Kariong P.S visit am. Pt.Claire P.S visit pm
Adam Kwasnik & 5 team members visited each school ,Over 100 kids per school attended a 2 hr clinic
200 tickets were given out at each school

2nd Tony Walmsley visited Taragal Glenn nursing home with 2 players to give a chat about the club ,what we do for the area & how to engage the older
members of the community.

That way everyone can see what is being done.

To be fair the clubs social media people do a really good job of covering this stuff.

He can't help it Shaun he's from Fulham.

I attended two Kariong Presso nights that were on the same night as Mariners games. I went to the games first, then the presentations, even if i looked a bit of a dick in a Footy shirt at a function.
Shaun was at the first but was working for the Drive Bys at the time. He impressed me when I spoke to him.
He has impressed me ever since he left the Westies. Unfortunately, his boss, is not very impressive.

....Charlesworth asked him to explore if any of the residents still had their boots and fancied a run.

Thanks Shaun :) for your responses, but just a few clarifiers:

What do you mean exactly when saying this?

This 'additional revenue generated ' that you say will 'cover the costs from for the 2nd game' :
• Is it rev. gener'td. from the 1st game ?
• The 2nd game?
• Or revenue generated from both games combined to be used to cover the cost of the 2nd game ?

Additionally, in regards to the 'new memberships', will the club classify the
'2-match pass' on offer to Canberran's as 'new memberships' ?

Cheers.
Hi Rowdy

When you say it is a case of "Peter paying Peter" it implies a financial connection. All I am saying is that there are two agreements that have no cross over between them. The revenue from the first match has no bearing on the revenue or expenses of the for the 2nd. Both events will have their own stand alone P&L and both are budgeted to make a small profit for the club.

The additional revenue is only the revenue streams that are created by having a 2nd match. Without the 2nd match this revenue opportunity would not exist.

Yes the Canberra memberships for two games are counted at new memberships as we are projecting new members joining not only for the two games but also for the membership benefits that they receive - the early are signs are very positive here.

We all knew that 2 home games were going to be relocated due to revenue issues.
This wouldnt be the case if all those 'life long' fans actually showed up to games.
The fact both are going to Canberra and that we have not been able to take advantage of financial circumstances that existed last year is no reason to think conspiracy or management failure.
I dont think the FFA would permit the owner to relocate the club from one marginal regional market (Central Coast) to another marginal regional market (Canberra) after more than a decade of investment, the impending new TV deal and the property development boom in Gosford as pointed out by others. If the owner lost the license due to financial viability then it would more likely go to Sydney or Melbourne.
Sustainability is not just one year of break even or small profit, it is a consistent requirement.
Poor management has been an issue in the past and the owner has made plenty of mistakes but I am comfortable with the off field stuff atm.
On field performance is going to be critical this next season however I am hopeful if we can make one or two good signings along with the signings to date and the expectation of last years debutants improving then we will be competitive.
If we (the people of the Central Coast) cant support our club (the only national sporting presence the region has) during difficult seasons then perhaps we dont deserve to have an A League license.

The local community engagement in the past has been both good and bad but I have to agree with Timmah, the past year has been outstanding - junior ticket deals, pre game forums involving TW, MC, PS, Hutch, Brice; Welcome Wednesdays, club ambassadors, club nights, member functions, charity support, CCF v CCM games, clear development pathways for local players.
Community/Local football engagement = all of the CCM senior coaching staff running a coach the coach session last night at Avoca for nearly 2 hours.
Where else would you get this?
