probably more representative of the overall member/fan base.... around 1400 likes on Facebook.
Facebooks likes, seriously
It is neither 'the more' nor 'less' of a way/ or means of representing
overALL member's, it's just one avenue & 'Likes' are a pretty sub-standard form of
communication. That was the whole point of my post.
If - for argument's sake - 75% of those are currently members of the club then that's around 1050 members - about a quarter of the total right now.
1 in 4, meh.
1 in 4 Aussies 'Liking' Bill Shorten wont get him into the Lodge, thank god.
If the Mariners were to base their
decisions on a "1 in 4 basis", like for instance this 'theme-song', they'd be successful in
failing to listen, let alone ask what 75% of their members think.
And using your arguments sake, they'd be listening/making decisions about the club from the other 25% on Facebook who aren't,
"paid-up - put their money where'it counts"
MEMBERS!
In any case I wouldn't consider them to be a small group.
In comparison to the total membership THEY ARE small.
Just like the Yellow Army,
Just like CCMFANS.NET,
Just like the 'Platinum prawn sandwich' brigade, some of whom don't own smart phones and still send in their membership forms via Australia Post.
When it comes to CCM saying that
"they now want to engage in a communicative dialogue" with the members (*fans) then it should be an
ALL or Nothing approach, otherwise what's the point listening to a 'minority'.
Again the point of my post.
(*fans) Imo, its members and members only that should really count. The proposed voting IS the way to stop things like a
potentially lame 'theme-song' becoming set in stone because of a few Facebook Likes.
