ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Season ticket did not arrive on Thursday or Friday. Took club at email word and when I arrived from the XPT at the admittedly early hour of 3pm, the guy at the tent was fast & efficient.

Ticket for the game, and slip with my seat details, in hand in time to join Mr Celery for a cider at Iguana Wharf (thanks MrC), and catch up with a couple of others.

Alas because I also had the pleasure of helping my daughter with my grandchildren for entrance to the game, I only got to the 'extras tent' on the western side 5 mins before kickoff. As I live 500km away and will not be back until R7 I stuck it out. The queue was long, the process was fairly smooth, and I 'only' missed 10 mins.

Back in Sawtell tonight, my card is now here, date stamped 8 October (Wednesday!)

Obviously there's a percentage of people who expect better, including me. It's not good for future membership sales. Just fix it next year; it's not rocket science.
What about GEMA caterers I think they have discovered a way to sabotage the Mariners at the beginning of the season by pissing off anybody who in the likelyhood considered buying a drink or perish the though get something to eat. I suggest taking a cut lunch and thermos if you intend to imbibe or eat because the lines at all bars are as long as wet weekend.

Crowds of over 10k always stretch them. There aren't enough places to get food and drink, simple as that.

Still haven't got my season ticket in the mail yet, granted I only bought it 2 weeks ago, hopefully it will arrive tomorrow!

Are they doing the collection for the Mariners membership gear this week? Didnt get the chance to get down to the tent last week?

Thanks

I made a point of going to each outlet and all, I say all were under staffed. They ran out of pies before half time each beverage and food area had 2 tills inoperable due to lack of staff. I know of poor service in corporate as well one box holder having to wait 30 minutes to have a Gema staff member return with a wrong order. Next week I think I will smuggle in a hip flask because I really would like to see the matches I have have payed for with a platinum membership and not have to stand in line for 15 for 20 minutes to buy a beer. Gema are located in Western Sydney hmmmm!

Yeah - normally you can catch a bit of a break in the beer-line on the eastern side, if you're unlucky enough to be stuck waiting still, at the start of the second half, no such luck this time.
I waited from about the beginning of half-time to about 5 minutes into second half, before giving up on the one in the corner at the back and heading back to the western stand, where I caught a bit of a lucky break with a short queue... But I missed SEVERAL minutes of the second half :( :) which lead to lots of grief to me and significant disappointment for those seated behind me, as I returned to disturb their perfect view ;)

Garth is correct.
The service was worse than usual.
Thanks Wombat I rang Gema up and told them their service was abysmal and was told that this criticism would be forwarded to the catering manager. ( you think not bloody likely) I wouldn't feed those bastards as I see not much has changed they have not only provided shithouse catering but they have also reduced the bar numbers. As I said I will be buy my food and drink OUTSIDE and not within a bull's roar of this abysmal catering company BOO HISS HISS BOO who are not fit to lick the boots of other caterers.

Exactly they will not extract another minute of wait time from me or one single cent I would rather blowtorch my testes or slide down a 100 metre razor blade using my testes as brakes goodnight all!

Jeebus! Somebody get this man a beer Pronto! :p

Like you, I cannot stand long lines so if I do go to the bar or get some chips for the kids I usually try to get in well before the half time rush.

I don't get the burst of frustration - long lines are hardly a new thing. It's always been that way, I don't take it as a personal affront as our mate Garth appears to. I don't know or care who GEMA are but they seem to be well under his skin.

The amount of bars open etc go off the what the pre sales are.For the weekend, they were horrendous but we ended up with a decent crowd, propped up by a good amount of scum who travelled and probably all got tickets at the gate, like many of our fans do and this effects the catering.
If the majority got tickets online (where it is also cheaper) you would find more bars open and more staff on.

. queues were the longest i can remember (we sit in the east) ... and admittedly we were late arriving after unsuccessfully waiting in line to pick up our member packs. for the first time at an a-league game we didn't make a purchase

. people around us were also complaining about the queues (and the pricing), these are guys that have been around us as long as i can remember and they also thought it was worse than ever ... and then they shut the bar down

. apparently, from half-time there were large queues of people lined up to leave the ground to buy beer over at the club ... something clearly ain't right

Gema, for Dibo's benefit is the company responsible for the catering at the stadium that use to be known as Blue Tongue frankly I have no idea what it's called now, anyway I met an long term casual employee of Gema, whose father just happens to have a corporate box with whom I imbibe, along with some others forming a motley crew you would say. So as we were drowning our sorrows(so much so that I thought I was heading for Davy Jones locker) the son, out of the blue announces that the reason for dismal service in all facets of the catering last week was due to a whole bunch of newbies in the catering staff, who for all intents and purposes, had not a clue how to function in their respective positions. So that shone a bloody great spotlight on the the debacle. What a turn around I can happily report that Gema staff were outstanding at yesterday's match and now I have the good oil when newbies are going to be unleashed on us in the future. Just quietly how about that ref yesterday I really think his pants were way to high, cutting off the blood flow to his brain thus impeding his visual acuity, I did notice a guide dog on the sideline.
