ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I'm surprised that inducements weren't offered for season tickets in the Eastern stand to ""improve the tv perception" of crowd numbers.......anyone who braves a summer game staring into the sun deserves a cheap ticket. We cop so much flak for having so few people sitting opposite the tv cameras I was really hoping there would be a big effort to improve the match day experience on that side of the ground.

I recall from the first Forum at Mingara that the Club was planning to do exactly as you say. Not cheap tickets, but improving the experience in other ways. They acknowledged that the Eastern stand is a bit of a challenge on a hot day. Some suggestions were a bit tongue-in-cheek, but the rest seemed a serious attempt to 'reward' the Eastern stand sufferers. You might find that if the Club wins the rights to the ground, there will be something done in this area.

Crazy idea, why not free sunglasses and a giant barricade to shield the fans a la that episode of the Simpsons where Mr Burns blocks out the sun. I think I recall someone else suggesting this, I don't see why not...

I sit in the eastern stand (bay 46) rain ,hail or shine & to be honest sitting in the sun has it`s benefits. ;)
I only move when the missus comes with me & I can`t look at the benefits.:overheadl:

It wouldn`t be a bad idea to get if they shared the giveaways around the stands too.
90% of them go to the centre of the western stand.
It was only when I complained last season that they actually brought a Masterfoods hamper to the eastern side & from memory (correct me if I`m wrong) but I think bay 16 only got one or two as well.

Should get Banana Boat on as a sponsor - have the Banana Boat Blue membership, and have sunscreen stations in the ground. It's quite a pleasant place to be if you have a hat, sunscreen and sunglasses on.

I'm not kidding either.

I wouldn't be surprised if this one was followed up. After some of the comments I've seen from Turnbull/Charlesworth about having a beach etc in the stadium... :D

They need something on the Eastern side, which may be a bit hard pressed considering theres no room for it like on the western side, and getting from the Eastern side to the Western side and back takes up most of half time...

That probably explains why your opinions on the game is so different from the rest of us :innocent:

Tracking well....i think there will still be a large number who have yet to sign up, including mine which will happen this week. :) The membership drives are a good thing. 30% increase is a pretty decent effort!

I think I might get on the phone tomorrow and see if I can draft in a few newbies. They come to 3 or 4 games atm so I might be able to twist a few arms.

Do the Junior Memberships count?
If so, it would be good if some other Clubs did this as kids wanting to go to a game brings parents:-

Reigning A-League Champions, the Central Coast Mariners are offering all Central Coast Junior Registered players 5 to 16 years old a Junior Club Membership and Season Admission to the 13 home games ( Finals and Asian games excluded). These Memberships are being offered for $10 and in previous years were sponsored by Ausgrid. Unfortunately, these are no longer being sponsored.
At the General Meeting of the Kanwal Warnervale Club on Monday 5 August 2013, this was discussed and a decision was made to throw our support behind the Mariners and help our Juniors attend.
We want as many of our Junior players, get the opportunity to attend games during the Mariners 2013/2014 season.
  • This has been paid by your Club to help support the Central Coast Mariners in the season 2013/2014 and we encourage you to go and watch the home games at Bluetongue Stadium.
  • Seating will be in the General Admission area.
This is an exciting time for Football on the Central Coast and the Mariners do need the support of the Football Community. We have taken the initiative to try to provide that support from players and parents at our own Club.
The Memberships will be mailed directly to the address provided during 2013 season registration.
