I really can't believe what's going on in Nrnberg at the moment.
Our so-called coach criticised 2 players during an TV interview after the loss in Kaiserslautern. One of them (Abardonado) packed his bag and left Nrnberg (as it was written in the paper).
Vittek has left yesterday to French club Lille as he doesn't want to train with van Heesen anymore - he was some kind of mobbed out... :redcard:

Today there are rumours that Mintal as well as Pinola would like to leave Nrnberg immediately as they are mobbed by the coach. :redcard:

And the transfer window closes on Sunday...

I really can't understand why they don't fire the coach?! Hopefully this is done today as a press conference is currently ongoing in Nrnberg...

sounds like a mess over there, any news on spira?

It is more than a mess...
No, no news on him. He is still injured. And the coach said that he isn't reliable as he is injured all the time...But as it is written that Abardonado has left he will play the next matches I assume...

and the best is, as I read in an email today is, that the coach will have new players as the ones he signed can't help him. they don't understand the way he wants to play....he now wants an other defender as Wolf is injured and no one in the squad is able to replace him.So he said

he is saying that about a squad/team he has built... :-\

Quite a strange day. The press conference was postponed twice and no one knows when it will be held. It is said that it will be 4pm CET as training will be at 4.30pm. There are several meeting of the Boards at the moment and one is about the coach...

The training session in the morning was led by the coach....Good news is that Spiro is back in training and is likely to play on Sunday as we don't have any central defender left beside him.

YES! HE IS GONE!!!!! :eek:verhead: :eek:verhead: :eek:verhead: :eek:verhead:
Thomas von Heesen is no longer coach of Nrnberg. The official version is that the quit on his own, but I think that he has been fired!

However, he is gone and that is the best news!

Don't have any idea who will be the next coach but it can't get worse...

how about the players - losing vittek, abardonado, pinola and mintal would be a bodyblow! if the club didn't release them from their contracts maybe it can all be pulled together again?

you were saying on saturday night you hoped when you got back von heesen would be gone - i'm guessing this wasn't quite the way you had in mind?

Well, Vittek and Abardonado are gone by now. Mintal is staying as the coach has gone and hopefully Pinola will stay...This is not sure as Dortmund wants to sign him...Hopefully, he stays, otherwise the fans will get very upset as a lot of people just bought season tickets because of him...

I don't mind how he was gone or has left. Actually, he should had gone after the last match of last season... I never liked him from the first day on...I read that he left as he couldn't bear the pressure that was on him :-\

You're right. We also have a very difficult environment, including fans, press and so on.

Well, that's a bit difficult. When we fired him it was said that his contract is not valid anymore if Nrnberg gets relegated with Meyer. We got relegated but not with Meyer. Now he is sueing at court for getting his salaries...
Don't think that will be a good basis to work on...

The transfer window has closed yesterday, so the squad for the season is fixed now.

Vittek has left for Lille
Abardonado has left to any club in France

Mintal is staying
Pinola is staying
Charisteas is staying, finally

we signed a new defender - Mitreski from Cologne...

The last match against Aachen was a 2:2 draw after Nrnberg was 2:0 behind at half time. Charisteas was about to score the 3:2 but his header was on the post...
Spiro played the whole 90 mins.

If you are still in Australia, Happy, it must be strange for you getting Bundesliga results in the middle of the night, eh?

Yeah, I am still here. :)
It's somekind of weird. When we play on a Sunday it is 10pm here, so I am able to follow the match on the internet.

Today is the 4th round and we are playing Wehen-Wiesbaden away.
Wehen plays its 2nd season in Bundesliga 2.

Actually, we should win that match.

Spiro isn't likely to play as the new defender Mitreski will play together with Goncalves.
Unless Goncalves will be out for that match due to some injury problems but this will be decided shortly before the match...
