Today was the 1st really important match. We played Ahlen away in the 1st round of the German Cup.
It was a really worse match from Nrnberg and we are lucky that we proceeded to the neyt round - after penalties. The first 120mins were 0:0.

As we should get promoted back to the 1st league after the coming season we definitely need new strikers who know where to score....

Btw. I am coming to Australia on Aug 21st and will be at the match against Sydney on Aug 23rd :)

Be sure to make yourself known to all in the Kendall....

Today was the 1st round match for us. We played at home against Augsburg and won 2:1. It was a very boring match.
Our 2 goals were presents from Augsburg as right before the 1st goal 2 players of Augsburg crashed, and the 2nd was a penalty.

Unfortunately, we lost our captain Andy Wolf with a cruciate ligament rupture and he will probably miss 6 months. So this may be the time for Spiranovic when he comes back after the Socceroos match this week.

Isaac Boakye, the striker who we signed this week from Wolfsburg was far better than the other strikers we have.

Happy, Spira was very good at the Olympics. I would think if he maintains that form he would cement himself a starting spot?

As Wolf is out for the match against Kaiserlautern (away) Spiro could have played for him. But Spiro is injured. He finally made it back to Nrnberg after the Olympics and the Socceroos match in London. Now he has muscular problems with his adductors...so he is out for Monday as well. :(

Have you been to Kendall Bar yesterday?

We haven't played yet. We are playing Kaiserlautern away on Monday night (CET). Can't say that much about that match as I am not up to date who will play.

Just got an e-mail that the draw for the next cup round was made yesterday. We have to play Bayern Munich away either on 23rd or 24th September.

It was a couple of years ago when we had that match before - Nrnberg playing in the 2nd league at Munich against Bayern. No one thought that we woud have a chance - but we did. Just lost after penalties :( but we got promoted then...

If that happens again this year, I will be happy :)

The next player is about to leave:
According to a German newspaper, Charisteas will leave either to Hull or Stoke City during that week. Nrnberg will get approx. 2 Mio .

If that is true, we need to sign a new striker. But I don't think that will happen with that coach.

is he any good ??? if so then to stoke please

Well, actually he doesn't fit that much in the system that the coach would like to play. When he came to Nrnberg at the beginning of  last season he was injured but later in that season he started doing well for us and scored some goals. It was bad luck for him that Hans Meyer wanted to have Koller for the 2nd leg of the season so Charisteas wasn't allowed to play. He was just on the bench.

If you have players that are able to pass him the ball in a proper way, he will score...

Craig, he is a gun. Scored the winner for Greece in Euro 04 final.

That's a long time ago...but if he is motivated he can play good and help the team...but he isn't motivated at all in Nrnberg

Just want to say that we lost our away match to Kaiserlautern with 2:1. According to some people who went there they mus have played even worser than at the home match last week :( I am pretty concerned
