ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Is CCM management secretly involved in getting Pluim Park with some hired lights instead of Gosford Stadium, we may go close to filling it as well...

A way to make some money... at The Northern Spirit we had a striker called Clayton Zane .. heaps of T-Shirts where sold after he scored saying
"" I was there the Night Zane scored"""

You could do the same thing... Or I was there the night Matty did not get a card... heaps of titles... I was there the night we kept a clean sheet...

Have to keep a clean sheet first, those shirts maybe in storage for a while.

I was wondering about clean sheets - where are we now - about 1 in the last 50 games ish?

Hard to keep your sheets clean when you keep sh!tting the bed

Be careful what you wish for.....;)
Agreed.
I commented before, but I noticed Staj's sideline frustration has increased suddenly and significantly. Makes me wonder if he's been told that he's out if we get the spoon. He just seems to have had a sudden change, more desperation.

Surprisingly you have to go all the way back to the glory days of round 7.

Could just be the same frustration as the rest of us? Either way I'm pleased to see he cares.

In the same position
Walmsley smiled constantly
Okon seemed like he wasn't even watching the game, or was numb to what he saw
Mulvey point blank didn't care
Staj gets angry and frustrated

Surely Staj would have some sort of verbal “guarantee” that he’s safe for this season given he inherited Mulvey’s roster (largely) and should not be judged on that. Other than a couple of games we have generally been competitive and with some better quality cattle next season, I’m hopeful things will again improve. The issue may be whether we have the resources or appeal to attract what we need. Lower level clubs in most sports have to pay “overs” to get any quality and if we are only spending the minimum it hardly leaves us with much coin to attract the quality required in the positions well covered by others posts. This will be Staj’s greatest challenge, building a good enough squad to compete on a shoe string budget.

Word was the Jets were in financial trouble yet they’ve managed to open the purse strings sufficiently to bring in some talent (that might have been a precondition of the new coach I suppose). If they can find some extra coin to get competitive then we must too (if not this year, then most certainly next year!)...

Jets were in trouble because of the trade war between China and the US. That was resolved strengthening Martin Lee’s financial position and subsequently he has opened his purse strings.

. my view is more pragmatic than that ... considering we can't afford to invest more in the squad, surely we are not in a position to pay out the last two years of a coach's contract* (of course only to repeat the same issues with under-investment again during each of those two years)

* assuming there is no performance based conditions in the contract for termination without paying out the term ... or that Staj doesn't choose to leave of his own volition

Staj is an Anton hire - he is quite safe. Other senior leaders..................maybe not so much, will be interesting to see who the scapegoat is this year
