ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

You know you grew up on the Central Coast when...

This has certainly brought back some memories.

Here are a few I thought of in a hurry.

Movie Marathons at Erina then later Tuggerah were planned for weeks in advance even if you spent half the time throwing Jaffas at the screen.

You still occasionally refer to Blue Tounge as Graham Park.

You've fed Pelicans at one of either Woy Woy, Gosford, The Entrance, Long Jetty, Terrigal or Ettalong (could probably add to this list).

You've had your picture taken with 'Ploddy' The dinosaur at least 5 times.

You had a school excursion to either Patonga, Booker Bay, Henry Kendall Cottage, or Old Sydney Town (atleast twice).

My dad (was a redcoat and convict depending on the day) and my uncle (tractor ride driver) used to work at Old Sydney Town and I was there almost every weekend if not every 2nd weekend (sometimes dressed as a convict kid pestering the Redcoats). My dad had the cannon blow up in his face before he stopped working there. The explosion peppered his face with gun powder which remained under his skin until he passed away.

Hmm.... wonder why the place closed ;)

lol, ahh it went on for several years after his mishap. They did however stop making them light the cannon with a match though after he was injured.

I was 17 the last time I went to a movie marathon, and it was in Gosford.

I too went to a movie marathon in gosford.... also went to one in erina.

Ahh... those were the days, eating spoonfuls of dry coffee like milo cause you thought it would help you stay awake.

Yuo knew you grew up on the coast when you can remember stories about what was inside ploddy.

Best one i heard was a old canon with wheels on it.

Can anyone remember when he had a hole in his stomach and you could climb in?

good thread  - I remember gosford being the hub of the central coast... i loved going shopping with mum to big fresh and pressing all the buttons to make the fruit dance and sing... and also the free breadrolls went down a treat... also chickadee at wyoming shopping centre before they upgraded it.... the excitement on the bus on the way home from school when we found out hungry jacks was opening at wyoming... we would have somewhere cool to 'hang'....
