ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Who would be your dream marquee player?

Ahmed Khalil (UAE) Asia youth player of the year.

After seeing this kid in action in an average team I am sure he would carve it up for the Mariners in "A" league & Asia.

There are a few guys in Gosford City Over 35s side who i believe could do just as good a job and drink just as much

Believe me there is no one in Gosso's over 35's teams that you would want (maybe the keeper in the B's was Ok) but yeah they look like they can drink.

As for Alan Smith....he would be head and shoulders above any other player in HAL.

But my dream player would be Beckham...full stadiums each week!!

Ronaldhino, Christiano Ronaldo or Wayne Rooney would do me. But who has the money to afford these guys? Also Cec Fabregas if he wasn't injured.

If we are to be realistic here ( I know why kill the fun) then who would you really have. Who could we sign for the same $$$ we looked at for Aloisi?

I think we need an attacking mid or a running striker so Larson would be fantastic.....but we would probably have more luck luring Juninho out of retirement than Larson.....

I think looking at Asia would be a key - particularly ACL related.....

Now in terms of my dream player - I'd take Steve Gerard - nice second stringer for Jedi

Realistically, you'd be looking at an experienced Asian footballer who is a regular on their national team still. Someone who would be a class equal to Adelaide's Cassio, a little bit more accurate than our Caceres, and someone who knows what the Asian scene is about.

Dream-wise, you'd want someone who is 3 classes about that...

Juninho would a nightmare.

I really think we need to get a quality asian player for a number of reasons. Keeps the AFC board happy. Gives us a player with in depth knowledge and experience of the asian style and referee styles.Plus the different mindset and attacking/defensive style.

Pay his bail and we've got a decent replacement for Mile. ;)

This is probably something Clive Palmer should consider at the Gold Coast. Nakamura is moving back to the J-League at the end of this season. The J-League ends in the first week of December, but starts in the first week of March. Japan are likely to be playing in the 2010 World Cup. Put 2 + 2 together, Nakamura will want to stay in peak fitness before South Africa, but few European clubs would want him on a 2 or 3 month loan. Any A-League club with foresight should consider him the best possible guest signing (with $500 AUD return flights between Tokyo/Osaka to the Gold Coast, $650 to Sydney, this could be a huge marketing boom tourism wise with travelling Japanese fans coming to Australia to experience our Summer and their Nakamura!).

TBH a fit Juni would be great - fact is he made Brosque look half decent...... the key word was fit....
