Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

We tried they back 4 and we were to exposed because the wide backs are told to push to high when off the ball.

Last year we made it work because of Tapp and Ballard.

We simply need to go back to a back 4 but hold our wide backs back and f**king move the ball, let the mids and wings move off the ball and make the space and attacks.

A wide back attacks when the moment is right for the space in-front.
Not when we have the ball and they are on the same line as our strikers and we have to lob or long ball over the top.

The back 5/3 seems to work against certain teams however it’s too risky against teams with a good front pack like tonight.
As our backline simply don’t know who’s man is who and it takes too long to work it out as the opposition strides towards us.

Almost can’t wait to the off season to see if we can solidify our best starting 11 and start again and maybe play actual football with proper lead up play or our players finding space between lines, etc.

And you would be upset by that? I haven't heard much support for either player on this forum??
OH I've been defending Paull for ages mate. I like him, I just think he's a bit slow in terms of pace and acceleration and definitely needs to work on his core strength cos he should be bullying people in the box.

Once again we’ve conceded 4, seems like whenever we go a goal or 2 down and things aren’t going well we crumble right to the ground. Complete opposite to what used to happened when we began to trail in previous seasons and would have the belief to comeback

Sainsbury bagging out the subs saying they didn't have impact
Well, did they? No. Jacko said the same f**king thing and followed it up with saying “they either start doing it or, you know, the windows opening up”
And whats wrong with that? Nothing IMO. Shit needs to change. Jacko sets the team up to grind out results because he knows, we know and he’s quite open about it. We do not have the same quality we did before. Our team needs to work hard and become a genuine unit. We did that in the first half, the only genuinely shit player in that time frame tonight was Brian. We did get worse when the subs happened. It’s a simple fact. I also do not believe jacko has lost the dressing room. He looks determined as ever to set shit straight and you can see the exact players that are on board with it.

I was asked to give a bit more analysis and my 321's again by a very respected long term poster but i'm not comfortable doing that while the performances are so bad so i will limit my opinions.

Doka and kaltak were horrendous in defence today. Faijao is a liability. The squad is massively under resourced.

The only positive was Sainsbury who was a 7/10.
Storm was 6.5/10.

Everyone else was basically sub standard for the A League. Maybe Alfie and Alou just get a low pass mark.

If he doesn't roast kaltak and just hammers the subs he needs a whack.

His team selection, his formation, his tactics, his choice of subs.

Don't blame the subs for not turning around a losing position when the starting 11 were bang average.
I f**king assure you, he will let Brian know what he did wrong tonight. Will he go as far as dropping him next week, I doubt it. Whenever Jacko speaks to the media pre or post game he is literally one of the most honest managers around. He doesn’t hide or say cryptic things. He did say post game tonight that every goal we conceded was avoidable, true. Will he say to Daniel Garb 2 goals were directly Brian kaltaks fault? No. Imagine the media from that. Was he right about the lack of impact from the subs? 100%. Will he get a media bashing for that? No.
