This chant.......

Love the Glory Glory song - get those lyrics printed off pronto and hand them out to as many as we can.

I've got a new idea for the "Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" chant that I started the thread with.....

I build up the "ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" for as long as it seems to need (a good minute or so, get everyone involved), and then "shhhhhh" everyone down, and then three quick hand claps, CENTRAL COAST, another three quick handclaps MARINERS.  Repeat 7 times so it's a nice round musical 8 times, and then I do another "ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh", and then launch into Yellow Yeah Yellow.  The key to the hand clapping part is that EVERYONE's arms do it, as high and wide as they can so we get the visual aspect as well.

What do y'all think??  Could maybe even do the whole thing twice - that would give us a solid few minutes of constant noise.

Sorry man, how could I forget??

Righto Marinators, no chanting on Sunday - the SCC have done it all before.  Having said that though, we'd better check if they've done "ironic silence" too.  In fact, HOW'S ABOUT WE JUST DON'T TURN UP.

Oh wait, Sydney fans have got that patented as well.  :p

I'm guessing that most of you have seen me do a variation of this buildup/chant in the Bay a few times this season already - well basically I'm looking to kick it into overdrive this weekend, and really make it something that makes the rest of the stadium go "wow, what the hell was that", makes the opposition go "maybe this isn't the nice place they make it out to be", and our boys go "they are right behind us, let's fire up and not disappoint".

What I want/need from everyone is suggestions on some variations - how long should I hold the "oooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhh" bit for??

Should I start of by using this as a base to get the Bay clapping in unison, a la Panathinaikos fans - you know that thing where they "ohhhhhh" for a bit with their arms out wide and then just one massively loud clap, and do that over the course of a few minutes, gradually getting faster until it's just a madhouse of clapping, THEN shush everyone down and launch into Yellow Yeah Yellow??

Should I "ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" everyone, and then shush, and then "ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh" them back up again a couple of times to really build the noise, let everyone know what's going on, then kick it into overdrive with either Yellow Yeah Yellow, OR Sha na na na na na na, Hey Central Coast.

Maybe I should do a huge "ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" for a good 2 minutes or so, then three quick claps CENTRAL COAST three quick claps MARINERS, then launch into Sha na na na na na naaaaa, but then punctuate that call and response one Auburn did a few weeks ago, the "who do we sing for" gear.

Anyways, so many idea's - love to know what you all think.  All suggestions are welcome, I really really _really_ want this to work come Saturday.     :vhappy: :vhappy: :vhappy: :piralaugh: :piralaugh: :piralaugh:

For the last f*cking time you ignorant dickheaded bogan - we first did this in Season 1, and we really ran with it multiple times in Season 2.  I started this thread because I had some variants on the idea, so I thought I'd ask everyone what they thought.  DO YOU SEE ME RUNNING AROUND TO ALL THE OTHER TEAM'S FORUMS SAYING 'OMG, LOOK AT MY NEW CHANT, IT'S SO F*CKING ORIGINAL, DON'T YOU PRICKS DARE STEAL IT OR I'LL TROLL YOUR FORUM HARDC0RE".

Tell me you inbreeding waste of oxygen, do you do EVERY SINGLE variant that I came up with??  All in the one giant chant??  Do you sing "We love Newcastle, we do".  HOLY SHITBALLS, we sing "We love you Mariners, we do".  BUT F*CK YOU, WE SANG IT FIRST SO YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO SING IT.

Christ, the ignorance level stemming from that joke of a supporters group and that shithole of a city astounds me no end.  And to add to that, here's an open message to the Squadron, the SCC, and anyone else who wants to have a whinge that we stole their chants - oh wait, it seems to only be the teenage oriented groups that are whinging about this......

Anyway, get f*cked.  Both of you.  We will chant what we want, when we want, because we care about supporting our team, not about outdoing an inbred pack of children (Squadrunts) or a racist pack of YouTube warriors (SCC).  If you have a problem with that, go jump off a bridge.  I used to have a slight begrudging respect for you TimmyV, but your idiotic posting over the last few weeks has completely destroyed that.  Enjoy being laughed at by the rest of the league for your group's ragingly immature behaviour, and enjoy crying yourself to sleep in your sister's bed on Sunday night after we do you over 4-0.

F*cking idiot.

P.S.  Timmy, does your group have an original chant amongst it??  New Car Sale doesn't count, 'cause that's just a variant of "USA, USA".  WOW!!!!  Could it be that you're like 99% of other supporters groups in the world in that you appropriate tunes and lyrics and adopt them to your own club.

OMG sick burn - you fail.

Hey Greenpole, I must admit, and this is a shocking revelation...... we did do something first before Newcastle and Sydney.

What's that I hear you ask??    And I answer - WIN THE F*CKING PREMIERSHIP!!!!

I know a chant that the scum cant sing.

"Stand up for the Premiers"

Hoping this will get a massive work out on Sunday.

I can see this working as the Mariners run out at the start and after half time, but the 'Stand up..' chants don't usually work mid-game as the people who watch sitting down generally can't be arsed moving.

Don't you know Dru, the Squadron perfected 'fired up' WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY before we did.  How dare we even contemplate copying them......

Love it.

While the existing verses for YFBT never get sung and are complicated, (or because they are complicated), I think replacing them with a simple, repetitive couple of lines, to the tune of the verse, is a great idea.

As long as it can be effectively communicated to people (eg. on all 3 buses or via mega), i think it could help the song go longer and with more passion. The verse would break it up, and then when it gets back to the chorus, it would get a bit louder.

(Maybe?)
