ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

why can't they just hurry up and die already
To be honest a strong a-league needs strong regional representation - CCM, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and yes even the jets.

And if you take them away you lose nights like Saturday. Watching my kids bouncing around in the active with their mates going mental when Steeley and edmo scored was priceless. I for one would hate to lose that.

I know it's comparing apples and oranges, but:

Newcastle City
Area: 186.8 km2
Population: 168,873

Lake Macquarie City
Area: 648 km²
Population: 213,845 (2021 census)

Central Coast Region
Area: 1,681 km2
Population: 346,596 (2021 census)

Wyndham City (Incl Tarneit, home of Western United)
Area: 542 km2
Population: 324.087 (projected)

Another Club other than the Scum could represent the region. It's not like a Newcastle based Club is doing a good job.

I'd include Lake Mac in the Newcastle numbers. They aren't coming to Mariners games.

You need to do more research champ.

I am one of many from Lake Macquarie that are passionate Mariners fans that take the hour+ long drive or train to matches.

In fact, there are many Newcastle residents that pull on the Mariners shirt and can be seen at the train stations on match day.

All of them are more passionate and loyal than the very many Central Coast residents that never turn up, or only turn up for finals.

Puzzled by the comments regarding my use of the term 'champ' I did a bit of research. It seems in Australia 'champ' does not mean 'mate' (as it does where I come from).

Why do Australians hate being called “champ”?

So I apologise. It was not meant to insult.

I just wanted to point out that saying Lake Mac residents don't attend is insulting to those that do.
Saying champ to someone is a term you use to try and wind them up for a reaction.

Say to yourself righto champ in the most ironically sarcastic tone of voice you have and thats how its intended in australia.

Its up there with calling some a f**k wit or dick head
