ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

The new mascot this Sunday.....

To our utter shame, this was pointed out on the SFC forum. How did we miss this, I am gutted

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvin_the_Paranoid_Android

"Here I am, brain the size of a planet and all they want me to do is walk round a football ground"

More:

Marvin is apparently afflicted with severe depression and boredom, in part because he has a "brain the size of a planet" which he is seldom able to use. Indeed, the true horror of Marvin's existence is that no task he could be given would occupy even the tiniest fraction of his vast intellect. Marvin claims he is 50,000 times more intelligent than a human, (or 30 billion times more intelligent than a live mattress) though this is, if anything, a vast underestimation

Not too much shame, Julia and blogged it on 442 first I think.

Just prior to going off on a rant re: the Australia Home End with incorrect facts which made her look like a fool

The real reason the next home game has been moved to Canberra is now very obvious - MARVIN

With fifteen weeks until the next game at BT (or so it feels) they now have that time to gauge whether Marvin is a good idea. If there is a backlash (such as the posibility last Sunday kiddies getting accidently stepped on by him, poked in the eye with his hat or even just sh*t scared of him) they now have all this time until next game at BT for eveyone to forget about him.

PS I am taking the p*ss

. i haven't read the links about marvin ... but i don't think 'our' marvin is all that bright

. the young fella that has been sitting behind us in the stands for years met marvin after the game at the waterfront, but only after much encouragement from his adult 'mates'. after having his latest hat and shirt signed by the players he got what is believed to be the first marvin signature

. with 'vuka 20' on one arm, he had ... wait for it ... MARVEN scrawled on the other

I'd say Marvin looks more like a martian

Perhaps not a her because a more mature lady had her photo taken with Marvin and was patting Marvin's chest in a place and way I wouldn't have been game to do if not certain of gender.

Probably lol.

Really it wouldn't have mattered what the mascot was.It would have got slagged off anyway.

Harmless fun and a bit of a laugh imo.

Are you sure?

Have no doubt Marvin will become a cult figure. Who else has a mascot that looks half teletubbie, half enebriated penguin? Mind you the other mascot looks the goods.
