ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Winning 🏆definitely helps.

. yeah i thought that may have been a factor and wondered how people might rate players from the dark years ... arguably there are players there that will be 'missed'. a couple of examples:
  • Booney has named Pain - his contribution would be understated because he played in a shit team ... for years. people may have been remembering a very different player if he was here the last couple of years (but he wasn't)
  • his time here probably coincided with Monty for a season - and although Monty had some success (as a player first) he was sometimes the only player worthy of 'professional' status in the team. in the shit times things could have been a lot worse without him. does that deserve additional credit?
  • others probably would have faded quickly if they were not surrounded by quality and success

I have lots of love for Pain for his contributions and commitment whilst he was here.

Both have court dates coming up.
Troy Hearfield also unavailable after his latest… ahem… indiscretions.
Mrdja, Elrich, and Adrian Caceres all available for selection however 🤔

. recency bias?
. staff knowledge?

. i started to think it was the offence (alleged, or otherwise) ... but that doesn't make sense either
. now i'm worried how many more may be drawn to my attention that i wasn't previously aware of

I probably made it harder for myself by actually trying to select a team in their respective positions (albeit with only 10 players), so there were some difficult omissions
Same. I didn't count to 10 😞

. i don't like to play favourites, so from my perspective this can't be done ... happy for other people to have a crack though

. but i am intrigued - which criteria are people making their 'best' judgement on?

. obviously it is a combination of things, but it is the little things that must sway personal opinion one way of another. the fact that it is not a 'best 11' adds a certain amount of freedom - but that leads to more choices. i'm probably more interested in people's criteria than their actual choice

. whadyareckon?
My criteria was all heart, not necessarily the best players. Those that virtually bled our blue and yellow. Maxy and Niz made it because they came through the academy and were so well loved.
