ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Squadron are the only other supporter group (to my knowledge) who have an anthem operating. Now, we ('marinators') have a chance here to *gasp* actually gain some respect from other supporter groups in the country (Because, believe me, we are _laughed at_ something chronic).

Wise men say..

If your doing it for the "respect" then you seriously dont get the concept at all.

^^ Hibs fans singing Sunshine on Leith (No this is not a suggestion, just setting a benchmark)

I'm no Hibs fan but that song is one of the best as far as anthems go.

It does help though that the Proclaimers are mad Hibs fans and Leith is the area of Edinburgh that Hibs come from.

IMHO the song fits well and the words are so easy, not sure how anyone can say it doesn't fit tbh.  Christ, West Ham chant about bubbles!

Hull City actually already use this as their anthem.

So is there a point(after 'x' amount of games or whatever), should it not take off, that you'll consider changing it?

Wait till an away trip - thats where the songs develop

wasnt even sung at canberra

That was a home game ;)

Dats funny ;D

I think it's great. The Hull vid is exciting.
Surely the best way to develop it is via the loud speakers at home with hand outs given out when people come through the gates?

I'd certainly be willing to put in a 20 and give half an hour of time.

lets just all sing this

Lulz. Will you too be sporting hideous sunglasses and lame tattoos?

I don't know why everyone is so against it? It works well. Its an easy song to learn, and like Deej said...West Ham sing about bubbles ffs!! If EVERYONE got behind it, and stopped complaining about it...it would sound amazing.

The bubbles song ... pointless and irrelevant though it may seem to us ... apparently started as a song about a club legend nicknamed Bubbles, caught on and stuck.

I say this just "for the record" because people seem to be raising "Forever Blowing Bubbles" as an example of a completely irrelevant song with no tradition or history or rhyme or reason behind it.

I'm not saying don't support CHFILWY. Tradition and association cannot be achieved it we don't give something a decent go.
The next monumentally emotional and memorable game we have (like our last GF, the 3-0 return leg semi, the 4-5 vs Syd, a 3-0 down comeback, etc. etc.) we need to have SOMETHING to sing and IMO from that day on we will have found our meaningful anthem.

i dont mind the song....i'm kinda caught in the middle.
the only thing that i don't like is that the Anthem we use is being used by other teams (Hull City for eg)
it would be nice to have a song of our own..

i know others may disagree.
