ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

We all follow the yellow football team....

This is the only one that everyone in the bay gets into, lets make it our anthem.

....no

reasons;
- Can't Help Falling In Love- Elvis Presley is a proper football anthem.
- We all follow a yellow football team, is a chant.

:headbutt:

No it's not. It's a 50's crooners song by a big fat long dead pop star who liked too many peanut butter, bacon and jelly sandwiches:

Maybe there's a better anthem here:

CAN WE STOP SUGGESTING NEW ANTHEMS.

WE ALREADY HAVE ONE AND IT'S NOT CHANGING.

Stick with what you've started. No song will ever take off if you change it every 5 minutes.

true, but its not really catching on so at what point do we try another one?????
The songs not the problem.

Singing at the football is not in the Australian culture.People are more likely to sit and stare at those doing the singing than join in regardless of what song it is.

It'll take time.

Actually singing in any form of celebration is not part of our culture as it is in other parts of the world. Add the white anglo demographic of the Central Coast and it makes it worse here.

Will defintely take time.

I wouldn't say the white anglo thing has much to do with it MM.

Singing at the football, especially internationals when it's hard to spot someone _not_ singing was common when I lived over there.

In fact I used to go to watch Ice Hockey with the Mrs on a Sat night after the football in the afternoon and the Mrs loved it because of the singing (and the violence)  ;)

In a little 2500 seater ice rink we used to lift the roof off the place.

She doesn't go to many sporting events here but when she does she nearly always comments on the fact that Australians don't sing.

Shame.....belting out a song with your mates is a great feeling!

Hard liquor at the bar would change that in an instant.

Would also change the amount of viloence during and after the game and increase the cleaning bill dramatically but hey, you gotta break a few eggs to make an omlette.  ;)

Doesn't stop Newcastle fans, or Sydney fans for that matter.

You have a problem when singing is not part of the culture AND you have a crap complicated song to sing.

As for the white Anglo thing, try telling that to the Welsh. You won't find better singers at a football match anywhere. So maybe MM is part right in that perhaps it is a Central Coast 'thing'!
