Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Sydney to host the Grand Final next 3 years

For context, Canberra have paid GWS 28.5 mill for three games a season for the next 5 years. Just under 2 mill per game. Not finals.

Can Townsend reveal what our flagship games worth according to his deal? I hope it's worth much much more than 2 mill.

What will be achieved from leaving games after 20 minutes? If we take the Wrexham fans as an example, wouldn't it be better disrupting Townsend's personal life (peacefully) by having a rolling schedule of fans turning up to his house and questioning his decisions, letting him know their feelings until he gets the point and resigns?
I think there are all sorts of rules in this country about this - also can you see the MSM coverage "sokkah thugs terrorise etc etc"

It’s about visibility, especially if you have an active bay that’s packed (like in the Melb derby this weekend) and they vanish after 20 mins it’s hard to ignore. Likely only the start of protests but things look to be heating up. Lots of activity on Twitter over last 24 hours.
And it will get huge media coverage as most media outlets like to see problems in our game.

APL board and Townsend obviously have no idea about football. Sure they may have people who've run clubs and businesses but they've demonstrated they aren't fans. And for Townsend to keep calling the game a product shows he's business first, fans second.

There was 2 ways this was gonna work. Give Sydney a magic round or make the GF like UCL finals where cities bid for the rights.

What a fkn debacle. Board needs to go.

They had to do this shit the first year I ever commited to a membership.

Ill be at the game Saturday, but my response to their decision will become elevated, if they maintain this course of action.

Where the f**k is the Mariners public statement?

Paramount wasn’t a bad deal it was necessary to secure the future when Foxtel shafted the league. The concept of what they wanted to do with 10 was good as well. It’s all been let down by the simple issue of the app being garbage.
It was a shocking deal mate. I said it at the time. How the hell would putting the A-League on a streaming service that no one has that has no other sport on it and no one except established A-League diehards would buy just for the A-League grow the league? I get Foxtel weren't that keen and the APL didn't have a heap of options, but it was a terrible deal that was never ever gonna work other than provide funding for the league.

It has nothing to do with the app being garbage or the quality of the stream or anything. No one has it, and no Australian sports fan who isn't already a rusted on A-League fan is gonna buy it just to watch the A-League. The type of people that sub to Paramount+ aren't probably the Australian sports fan deciding to give it a go either...

At least on Kayo, every sports fan in Australia has Kayo, so you're half a chance of the Australian sports fan tuning in...

"The APL met today and received legal advice stating that it's too late to back out on the grand final deal, so we're going to pretend like we still think it's a good idea.

It's a festival of football. Be festive you ungrateful c**ts.

Love from the APL."
