ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Arh, true. Interesting.

Wonder as well if the tv figures were actually higher this week due to people tuning in to watch the walkouts, etc.

As much as we don’t like Victory or any other team for that matter, sucks for the players, coaches and law abiding fans especially kids of their team depending on the outcome.

Victory have been given until Wednesday morning to prove why their fans have not brought the game into disrepute.

Does Victory have a seat on the 5 member APL board?

I couldn’t find the list in old posts.
Will be interesting to see how they compare any possible sanctions to previous examples in Australia or around the world.
Apparently they also have at least one suspended sanction for fan behaviour towards an Adelaide player. APL have nothing to do with the sanctions and punishment, it's all FA just like the referees are under the FA not the APL. So in this situation the FA can go hard and the APL can do very little about it. APL not in a great position, seems they are good at putting themselves in vulnerable positions with P- and the FA.

Agree that City should not escape this as they were well and truly involved and just because their player was injured they have avoid the majority of the backlash.

City should be copping it too. There were flares raining down at the other end, they just didn't run on the pitch.
I think that would have been salvageable - frame it among the walk outs and drawing attention and it wouldnt have gone too far. City will likely be dine or maybe no active for 1 game.

FA can go hard and the APL can do very little about it.
I dont think the APL would go against it, They need to take a strong stance or the commercial implications would be even worse.

I cant see that happening. Would be a huge legal war and both sides would lose.
Don't be so sure, the creation of the APL left FA vulnerable and with less cash flow so there could be bad blood there. FA probably cannot wipe the smiles off their face since the whole argument by the clubs was we can run the comp better. Now it's arguable the clubs have caused the darkest day in Australian Football.

If the APL loses sponsors and P- funding at expected levels then there will be no option but for the FA to step in and take over. Could very well be a clause in the contract that allows them to.

Won't do them any good. Football Australia is the regulator so the APL isn't involved

Paramount were already voicing there displeasure about the decision before the derby and its furore.

If I'm APL I'm lining up a sacrifice and go the "mistakes were made, fresh start" etc etc.
Their complete silence since Saturday (that statement was an insult) shows they are in crisis
Only way the APL can survive in my opinion. Then review how so few of the club representatives were able to make this decision in the first place, has to be contingencies in place where that doesn't happen again.

I reckon:
City 3-0 win
Victory suspended fine and points penalty
Glover 3-6 weeks
Few S Melb fans get bans

The smart move for Glover was to run like f**k. Why would you stand there as it all goes tits up?
all of this plus the rest of Victory's home games played without crowds. They deserve the full extent.

I'd put a 2 month ban on their supporters at games.

Also I believe there is a suspended sentence from last year (cant remember what for maybe the cavello incident) that will also now play a contributing factor.

Love the photos with captions like - "Police wish to speak to the pictured man who may be able to assist with investigations into the alleged use of a flare" - you mean that guy holding a lit flare? What makes you think he knows anything about the alleged use of a flare?

This part sounds like the APL themselves: "They neither understand nor love our game".
How does Townsend think that what happened is NOT linked to his announcement? He's a slimy cnut looking to have no responsibility on this.
When you've got fans from both teams at a derby chanting f**k the APL you can be pretty clear they are upset about the decision the APL made.
