ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Suggestion to make the stadium louder.

another random thought if we wont respond to a celebrity what about a famous ish marinater ie auburn mariner
he fires us up in the bay and the pubs y couldnt it work for stadium?
that could be way off i just thought of it then and i ve had a few cocktails.

Just extrapolation on that random thought... what if the video camera was focused on the Bay when they were getting into it? Pan around the crowd a bit and once people saw their mugs on the big screen then that would feel obliged to join in the singing/jumping. You see it when ever the camera is on someone in the crowd, they wave madly and love being on the big screen. This obvioulsy isn't a solution for the whole stadium but it will get more people involved in the areas surrounding ground zero, ie Bay 16.

if your there to get a good view and watch the game your in the wrong bay imho

well, some might want some sort of view which is almost impossible from the front

i think there are plenty that wish to view the game whilst contribute positively in terms of singing and chanting so the back is their happy medium

agree with mick
as great as chanting etc is we're there to watch a game of football and down the bottom you cant see much so im happy being up the back personally... so long as we all join in at the back we're gonna make plenty of noise

Sit from the front of the bay rather then the back.

Has been tried and has failed, this is not about just the bay but the whole stadium

Do you sit in the bay?

Why did it fail ? was viewing an issue ?

I used to sit in the bay but upgraded to gold this year to sit with relo's. My gf wants to get amoungst it though so we will probably come down again for a few games this season.

As dibo pointed out we never got the whole core group down the front, we did for a number of games have a section at the front of the bay that went the whole bay across standing that forced others to stand behind us. the problem was still the kids that were there to socialise and not participate  that created the hole between the front section and the group at the back. I believe that if we had of got the whole crowd down the front we would of had one standing group at the front and then behind us a sitting area comprised of the same kids who did not want to get involved.

Now with reserved seating it's not going to happen, the people that have seats up the back with a view (well what we in the bay can call a view) are not going to give it up to try again IMO.

As far as i know the seats up the front have not been given sold yet. Why not try out the whole group up the front for say 3 weeks with the hope that after that you can return to you good seats with the atmosphere in the bay changed and the twats up the front gone?

well.................. if we then went back to the back of the bay.................... instead of some people in the front of the bay.................... there would be nobody in the front of the bay................... and ill have to tell people who are in my normal back of the bay seat to move.................. so im confused as to what this is supposed to achieve ???

imo not sitting down the front from the start was a failing point... look at almost all supporter groups and u dont see them up the back of a stadium they are the show piece....also wouldnt be a problem had it all started in bay 15 or 17 with no nets in way of ppl complaining about views

Taking the scum as an example, when they went to the front they did it properly everyone piled onto the fence and forced everyone behind to stand. Once those behind were standing it was a shorter hop for them to participate. It culminated in them getting 6 bays jumping for Newcastle, ole, ole at the grand final

Yes there all very american but even americans understand they HAVE to make noise when this happens.

1 Prompts on the big screen ie american football D FENSE D FENSE GOOOOOOOOOO yeellllllllooooooooooo ETC
2 have a video clip of some sort of celebrity figure on big screen wearing our colours
saying "ok everyone its time to get on your feet" LETS GO MARINERS LETS GO

I noticed over in USA being told by a big tv to do something is a lot more effective then being told by another person  ::) ::) ::) especially if its a celeb wearing the colours.
at the mets game they had the guy from king of queens n chris rock it was very effective.
just some ideas insert whateva chants/cheers you want LM's yellow army all the basic ones.

Eggy, Eggy, Eggy. You've been in Yankland a little too long I think!

I recall a few trips to Parramatta Power matches in the latter years of the NSL before the Breakers were booted out and replaced by the Scum.

They adopted American-style razzamatazz in an attempt to gee up the crowd. They has a band playing behind the goals while the games was being played. They had incessant prompting from some twit on the PA shouting "D Fence". They has canned crowd chanting over the PA.

All it did was totally distract from the game, and has us falling about laughing with each sad attempt.

TIFO - certainly. Lame 'World Series' (wtf) promotions - F off.

We've got a good comp going now. Let's not spoil it with something as fake as Pamela's tits.

We collectively arked up as a group (and I'm talking about ALL A-League club supporters) to the FFA in season 1 when they tried to play the yankie style music during the game (corner taking, free kicks etc) that they gave a directive to all stadiums NOT to do that in future and that whilst the game was in play, NOTHING was to be played over the PA (thank god!)

A classic example of 'people power' working and back in the day when the FFA was genuinely concerned at what we thought (ahhh.....those were the days! LOL )

One of the things that drive me insane at BT is the pre match entertainment provided by the guy on the mic (I think his name is Millsy?). It's annoying and I certainly wouldn't want that sort of rubbish in my ears during the game.
Agree 100%.That guy should have his mike taken away from him.Rather than rev up the crowd he makes most of us cringe with embarassment.Send him to do the basketball or some other Americanised sport where that sort of crap originated.

I think an anthem could work over time especially if they go back to having the teams run out separately.Away team first....no anthem....just the home crowd bagging the crap out of them. Then us with the anthem playing.Get rid of this coming out together and shaking everyones hand crap before the game.Plenty of time for handshakes etc AFTER the game imo.

I remember the semi final last year against scum - my first trip to watch the mariners.... such a good game and the bay was packed... and then there was dancing and chanting in the street out front of leagues after for like an hour.... i am hoping for a repeat in atmosphere this year in the bay... I think if we play well it will happen because before that game I would never have gone to the HAL but now I wouldnt miss it...

Every club has one of these numpties "warming up the crowd" before games nowdays. At least the Queensland guy it a bit porky so you can get all sorts of Jenny Craig chants going for him...

They had canned crowd chanting over the PA in the latter days of Northern Spirit aswell........it's hard to believe that some numbskull actually thought it was a good idea.
