I noticed over in USA being told by a big tv to do something is a lot more effective then being told by another person  : : : especially if its a celeb wearing the colours.
at the mets game they had the guy from king of queens n chris rock it was very effective.
just some ideas insert whateva chants/cheers you want LM's yellow army all the basic ones.

The ground losses noise out of the Southern end and also the the northern end as the ground is so open. Need to enclose both ends to give that vibrant atmosphere that you experience in european football.

that was just an exsample it can be any simple chants you want and i'm talking bout just bout making the crowd as a whole more vocal to add to our noise and genral stadium atmosphere even tho its american i think its better then what we have around the stadium  currently whilst we wait for the 50k seating with enclosed roof when we can start thinking about sounding european

have to agree with keensy here

it is great that you are throwing ideas around eggy but i am not sure how the australian sporting public will reacte if pushed along in such a fashion

americans tend to be more compliant and even overly-patriotic in these things while australians will just want to buck against the system for the sake of it

it may be worth a go and would probably have more chance of working on the coast than say sydney or melbourne, but i fear it would piss more people off than bring people for the ride - especially the celebrity bit, where we are more likely to take the piss out of them then worship them

They do this at ANZ stadium for the Bulldogs games. An announcer will occasionally comment on something about the situation in the game, and then say "let's get that chant going Bulldogs fans!". Cause of how shite the Bulldogs are, it's typically after the opposition has scored a try and is about to kick off to the Dogs.

It's never gotten a response from the crowd. Marinermick is right, Aussies don't like being told what to do.

One of the things that drive me insane at BT is the pre match entertainment provided by the guy on the mic (I think his name is Millsy?). It's annoying and I certainly wouldn't want that sort of rubbish in my ears during the game.

I've been to NRL and NBL games where the ground announcer tries to hype up the crowd during the game. It kind of works for the NBL because it's so Americanised and in the NRL the only chants that work are the generic "team name" clap, clap, clap... and I think we all agree that we can do better than that.

I think the club needs to agree to some kind of unofficial anthem like Sailing, YNWA etc and play it over the PA pre game and have the team walk out to it. The more the crowd hears it the more likely it is tha they will start singing it when it's played. Also they are more likely to join in if it starts spontaneously in the crowd or in the pub pre or post match.

Imo australia in general trys to do everything like america we r very "Americanized" maybe not in the "real football" community but just genrally.

I think use it to fire up after a big play ie big save etc as opposed to dodgy attemp to pick us up when we are down.

I don't think it really has been tried. We never set up the whole group from the front. We set up a large group towards the front and then there is a bunch that has always stayed up the back. We succeeded only in creating a big hole in the middle that sucked the noise and energy out of everything as it filled up with teenyboppers.

Taking the scum as an example, when they went to the front they did it properly everyone piled onto the fence and forced everyone behind to stand. Once those behind were standing it was a shorter hop for them to participate. It culminated in them getting 6 bays jumping for Newcastle, ole, ole at the grand final

I used to sit in the bay but upgraded to gold this year to sit with relo's. My gf wants to get amoungst it though so we will probably come down again for a few games this season.

it makes sense to be at the front as the reason you are there is to support the players and they will hear you better at the front

however, people want to watch the game as well and the better viewing is from the back

also impossible to achieve now with reserved life seating
