ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Songs 'N Chants

"Mariners" to too generic. It is not a geographical location. I think the point of the chant is to emphasise the team belongs on the Central Coast.

First time I've looked at this thread. But I disagree, in the HAL and all it's fans we are known as the Mariners.
Trawling around I am very impressed by the energy of the Portland Timbers:

But something a lot simpler may be Seattle Sounders - Boom Boom Clap:

Of course with Mariners in the appropriate place in the chant. They sing "Sounders".
We need to have guys in each bay/stand generating/orchestrating the chants, not just in the supporters Bay 16. Would that be allowed? The fans in the stands *need* to get involved in the chants, not just the active supporters bay.

And the Call and repeat is just fantastic!

Couldn't we do something with this?

Coasties - Mariners?

Central Coast - Mariners?

Yellow - Blue?

Or something?

MIght be worth mentioning too... My wife commented to me on the weekend, that she had no idea what was being called out in the "clap-clapclapclapclap-COAST!" chant (obviously that's not how she referred to it ;) ) it seems she's not alone either and I think it's a shame, because I think it's one of the ones that was adopted because of the obvious simplicity etc... It's the same ole problem though, of not really knowing how to propagate the words, short of having people spread around the stadium like that...

If only we owned the electronic scoreboard...

I must admit the "WHO DO WE SING FOR" on the weekend sounded awesome.
The east side then west side was fantastic but I think they got a bit confused when PP did both together.
Maybe if he tells them (via Magaphone) that we`re doing one together it may be simpler.

Also as pointed out earlier its hard for people in the stands to understand what the chants we.
We sat up at the back of bay 17? & my wife coundn`t understand what was being sung.(except for the f**k OFF NEWCASTLE)
If the Yellow Army need prompting for the chants, then I`m sure the stands will need a lot more.

Not criticising just some feedback....:overheadl:

We were maybe a tad rusty (okay, I'm understating it) but we'll get there. Heat didn't help... Sounds a lame excuse but I know it affected me haha.
Alcohol dehydrates you ;)

PP… Can you confirm if you have had both sides of the stadium join in the WDWSF chant simultaneously? I get what you're doing after both stands have had a go separately, but on the whole, I don't think people understand you want both sides to join in at once. I could be mistaken.

Me and the Trouble and Strife were sitting right up the back of Bay 47. God it's hot up there on the East side! I'd forgotten. :(
It was very hard to see and hear what the YA wanted us to do. It seemed that there was more chant following to my left in the Gold Bays 48, 49 & 50 where I have my Gold reserved seat. :) I followed as much as I could though and in the 2nd. half a lot more around me started too. Maybe it *is* that the whole mob of us, fans, are a bit rusty and that things will be better next week. I hope so! We need some voice to give a big razz to WeeMac. :p
I'll be in Bay 49 next week, wife has to work until 5.45pm., so I should be able to give it full song. :shoutclap:

Yeah mate. Did it a couple of times last season with pretty good outcomes but I guess we need to try and make it more known that we'll be doing that. Is immense when it works.

no, he's not very popular @ the moment especially after his goal celebration

Probably in a minority but I don't really have an issue with his celebration. We have been giving him heaps over the last couple of months and to be fair he played well and silenced his critics then showed us that with the celebration.

Where I do have an issue is his shit cover up storey. Just come out and say it how it is.....I coped a load from the fans in the last 2 months and all I was doing was showing them I had answered my critics....maybe I shouldn't and sorry if it offended anyone.

Yeah, I only saw the shushing, did he do anything else? it's hardly offensive to my mind, he's hardly the first guy to shush the crowd after a goal and as you said, he's copped quite a but with little proof.
mind you, I'm still not convinced ;-) would like to see more of this first and he was the first player to watch the ball roll past him for that goal...
