ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Duarte actually ‘made runs’. Darted sideways towards past his player then changed direction and made diagonal runs to loose his man.

Edmo and Kuol 95% of the time move in a straight line forwards, and then when a low wide ball comes across the face of goal they hold back for a cut back rather than keeping their run flowing through for a tapp in.

If they are going to keep playing Kuol and Edmo they need to go watch tapes of Berisha and learn how to play offside and step back on and also just commit to a run and trust that low cross /pass is Coming off the foot.

There were good runs made by both wingers as well that were not rewarded.
They will be in future as the team gels and knows how other players around them operate.
It will take a little time but it will come. Hopefully we will then stop relying on hopeful long balls and high crosses to big strikers.

Agree the pitch was very heavy and they watered the crap out of it. Has been dry in Shanghai so it wasn’t from rain. At the game Port ran out of juice in the second half so the heavy pitch was a ploy to slow the game down IMO. I think we needed to make more subs around the 70 minute mark not just Brandtman who had a positive impact. Their fitness was pretty poor given how far into their season they are. At the game it felt like the players didn’t give up which is what you want to see at this time of the season.
I agree. In the dark old days we could have folded and lost that 5-0 and 6-0

Fully agree with your comments on Tappy. We need a box to box midfielder to link with the forwards. McCalmont seems capable of filling Max's role but someone is needed to fill Nizz's box to box game, before he become a #10, to provide a link with the strikers.
In the last two games I have watched a South American (who shall remain nameless) make great breaks down the sideline, with no support apart from one or two strikers 50 metres away on their lonesome. No one is providing that support in attack in the park in attack.
I do not think Steely is the answer.

It also seems that many here do not learn the risk of knocking new foreign players before they settle in fully. I like eggs, but not on my face. That is all I will say. I am fully satisfied with "I told you sos" from the last few seasons.
I agree with this. I like Steele but he has been poor the last couple of games. I just think Jacko has him and Alfie the wrong way around (attack/defence). Alfie should be the cover with Steele more attacking.

Steele is scared to drive forward. Always looks to play back or sideways at best. He will improve with more time but Tappy is the better player tbh.

Tappy back in midfield asap. Speaks volumes that we have to play him there with two fit CB's sitting on the sidelines. Wondering if Rocco would be worth giving some game time to see how he goes?

I agree. But I feel like driving forward is more his natural game. I think he may have been told to sit in behind Alfie more which is making him second guess or be more reluctant to go forward. Also agree with Tappy. I'd like to see those 2 in the middle of the park together.

Tappy in the middle means Paull. Be careful what you wish for
