ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

"If we can keep up with them then we're doing a good job."

Anyone now doubt that he is a dumb as dog shit?? So hows it going keeping up with them Joel?? 5-0 wasnt it.

You would think if you were going to invest in a player who did not speak a word of english, or live in a country similar, you would give him more time pre-season.

They brought him over like a week before the season started. Had they had him training for a month before hand, he would be fitter, and could speak simple english by now. It is absurd to expect a player who is unfit and doesnt speak a english to do the job quickly in a new team.

With the short nature of the a-league season, you cant afford to bring in players of this type so late in pre-season

Yeh, but you make the mistake of assuming that they have good management skills.

i was reading about Elrich being back for AFC when I realised its not just mariners playing AFC next season...Jets will too
ROFL if they play like they did against MV!
anyone else looking forward to seeing Jets fail in AFC?
On sad note it will be a bad representation of Australia...

Con, half pissed as usual, in the AFC box making a bloody nuisance of himself.
Great advertisement for Football in Australia, eh?
I doubt he'd be aware of some of the cultural sensitivities either, so I'd expect that the FFA will have to assign someone to be with him all the time so he doesn't end up offending some seriously rich AFC delegate, and causing an international controversy.
He'll be about as effective as Sir Les Patterson in things 'Kultral'!  :vomit:

One more reason to hate the Scum! Is this the reason Mark Shield is retiring - to protect the family jewels:

The Newcastle Jets have today re-signed striker Joel Griffiths on a 3-year contract that will see him become the club's marquee player from next season. The deal will potentially see last season's Johnny Warren Medalist and Golden Boot Winner stay with the reigning Hyundai A-League Champions for the remainder of his career.

Griffiths, who turned 29 in August, has been a talisman for the Jets since joining the club in 2006 from Leeds United in England. The enigmatic front-man has also enjoyed spells with Neuchatel Xamax in Switzerland as well as Sydney United, Parramatta Power, and Newcastle United in Australia's former National Soccer League competition.

This significant moment in the Newcastle Jets' short history comes the week after Griffiths made his 50th appearance for the club in the Hyundai A-League. During this time, Griffiths has compiled a sensational goals-to-games ratio, scoring 24 times at almost a goal every second game.

A crowd favourite since his return to the Hunter region, the striker has developed a cult-like following which continues to bring Novocastrians through the turnstiles in droves. There is no doubt that this latest development in Griffiths' career will see his popularity reach levels scarcely seen on the Australian football landscape.

Salary cap rorting par excellence. Somebody whos made a handful of Socceroos appearances for a glorious return of one goal, somebody who was willing to come back to the country from a pretty meh overseas league for an under-the-cap salary (and who is presumably not making a lot more than that, even as a marquee) and who wasnt going overseas anywhere in a hurry Under no circumstances should he be a marquee.

Vidmar at least was a national icon, someone who has performed with distinction in overseas leagues and in the green and gold. c**tface isnt worthy of kissing Vidmars boots, grand final mistake or not.

This is simply Con getting to sign an extra under-the-cap player with his salary outside the cap to remain competitive and compensate for the fact that hes too stupid and stubborn to use ASAs. If c**tface is getting $250k, then basically the cap has been extended by $250k for Con. Thats all this means.

He came back from his failed stint in Japan overweight and unfit. Now he has done a hammy. These issues wouldnt be unrelated so expect to see the c**t on the sidelines for a large part of the season.

Thankfully for GVE, there is 1 worse team than them this season (Perth) who will finish below them.

As for the sheepshaggers, they have more quality than whats left of the scum and should hopefully keep them in a well deserved 7th.

Worst GF defence ever???
