ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Round 16 - Sheep-shaggers v Mariners

It amazes me how after every loss at least one person on here will come and say "I get the feeling that will come back to bite us at finals time" yet not one person said "I get the feeling this will be very handy to our finals chances" after clawing our way back from 3-0 down against Adelaide AND Sydney.

That was quite simply the most insipid, heartless, gutless, and piss-weak display I have ever seen from this football team.  They should give their paycheques from this game to charity - this was nothing short of f*cking disgusting.

Our "tactics" are an abomination, and is it so painfully obvious that McKinna has favourites within the squad - to the detriment of our chances of winning a football game.

Razorback - you know full well what I think, his presence on the field yet again contributed nothing (whoa, _two_ attacking runs this week - watch out), and the continued sycophantic efforts of some on this forum to continue to line up to suck him off week after week when he......... look, you know what, I'll settle with "he's shit, contributes nothing, and is a disgrace to the jersey".  Anything else I'd be accused of bias or some shit again.

Wilko's defence was an improvement, but a constant reliance on hoofing it long......... it's not a f*cking tactic.

The substitutions of Simon and Caceres....... *shakes head*

We are going to get murdered in Asia.  Might want to start preparing ourselves for that now.

Its already to late for that we should have kept Boza and try the other imports.
We can add one new player each week without changing the overall structure of the team but then we would see how they can perform but look at the rewards if Adelaide can get $2.5m

Hopefully with the ridiculous post season cup ditched in favour of an FFA Cup played throughout the season with the final on the last day.

I suggested this in another thread a few months ago and I reckon its a top idea... I wonder why the FFA have not considered it? Gives the clubs in the League a great chance to win the double and adds equal presitige to each trophy. After winning the League last year and losing the post season makes you feel like the job was only half done and made me feel so deflated because it didn't feel like we had any time to really celebrate the premiership achievement.

An FFA Cup is a GREAT IDEA (suggested name is Johnny Warren Memorial Cup... and make it as big as the Bledisloe Cup, enough for 100 schooners!!).

For this to work, current A-League clubs would HAVE to be convinced of its merits.

Also, the 9 HAL teams would have to come in at a certain stage (final 64 or 32) and play AWAY first game, making the possibility of a lucrative fixture for the home team.

Next, give broadcast rights to SBS.

Next, get an Australian sponsor, so it BELONGS to all of us.

Next, make the final on Australia Day. No-brainer, really. If Cricket Australia is stupid enough NOT to schedule the Adelaide Test match around Australia Day, then let's make it OURS.

Finally, tender out the Final on a two-year basis, somewhat similar to the Superbowl. Let the MCG, Stadium Australia, Lang Park, Football Park & Subiaco Trusts make some decent offers. I can see the marketing angle now..."See the Mariners take on the Scum on their road to the MCG".

Ah Serious! You cannot be serious. Sycophantic? that's why I criticised Bojic and Gumprecht. That's why I said 'Not happy'. But your pseudo management style, although clearly superior to Lawrie's, is from the days when players were on maximum wages and sprigs were nailed on. Get the dubbin out mate and polish your brain, what's left of it. I see the strengths and the weaknesses of the Mariners, and the A League;I enjoy the honesty and the naivety, the sweat and occasional skill, the despair of defeat and the delight of victory;  that's why I watch it, it's much better than the over paid, over hyped, over publicised mercenaries and prima donnas who parade in the EPL.

I agree with most of this

People should take a step back, and see our league for what it is, 4 years old ffs.

People bag out our coach. He has taken us to how many finals? Would you prefer we were like Perth, or Sydney, with how many coaches now?

We finished top of the league last year, we are going to asia, we have in the past signed 3 of the best socceroos in our countrys history, and we are now the richest team in the country, possibly one of the richest in asia.

Take a f**king chill pill ffs, is life THAT BAD as a Mariners fan?

Any chance this idea can be pitched to the FFA because i think it is completely reasonable and logistically near perfect.

The only problem is that most (if not all) state league clubs are off season when the last 32 and last 16 matches are played so it maybe a slight problem with them being fit enough to give the A-League clubs a red hot go.

With a 530pm KO on Friday I wont be able to get back home or to the CCLC in time to watch the game, so if any body else is in the same boat I'll be watching from Ryan's Bar @ Australia Square in the City

Count in myself and Ravana.

Got Ryan's at 5.30pm - jam packed and the cricket on all the screens - so went across to the Paragon and watched it there in the TAB bar - we couldn't have finished a book!
If we play like that again on Boxing Day we can kiss the top 4 good bye!
