Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Round 14 v Meow

First good news of the week so far (from the local rag in Brissy):

QUEENSLAND Roar physiotherapist Tony Ganter says Charlie Miller will need a "minor miracle" to play this weekend, conceding the club is losing its battle to keep the star playmaker on the park for the rest of the season.

Miller, the scorer of seven goals in 13 A-League matches, aggravated his hernia complaint in the Roar's 1-1 away draw with Sydney last Friday night.

Ganter all but ruled him out of Saturday's clash against Central Coast Mariners, admitting it had got to the stage where surgery and a minimum six-week lay-off was the likely option.

"He's gone from feeling the best he's felt for a while before the Sydney game to feeling the worst he's felt after it," Ganter said. "He may get an injection in the hernia area, but that's probably only delaying the inevitable surgery. It may be a case of biting the bullet and getting the surgery done and have him back in time for the finals."

But the third-placed Roar are still no certainties to make the final four in what is an extremely tight competition.

With eight rounds remaining, only six points separate top side Melbourne and sixth-placed Sydney.

Massive three weeks for us with QLD and Sydney at home and Welly away.

Good news about Miller. We need a massive game from Porter as Zullo has been electric. This may well be the key battle along with D-Mac v Moore.

The Central Coast Mariners' Round 11 National Youth League (NYL) fixture against the Queensland Roar, originally set for Sunday, 7 December at Pluim Park, has been re-scheduled to become a curtain raiser ahead of Saturday's Hyundai A-League clash at Bluetongue Stadium.

The Mariners NYL side will now meet their Queensland counterparts at Bluetongue Stadium at 3pm on Saturday, 6 December, which will be followed by the Mariners' crucial Hyundai A-League clash against the Roar.

Gates at Bluetongue Stadium will now open at 2.45pm.

The Mariners Hyundai A-League campaign continues at their Bluetongue Stadium home on Saturday, 6 December when they host the Queensland Roar in Round 14. Kick off is at 6pm.

Tickets for this match are on sale from Ticketek outlets, from the Ticketek website www.ticketek.com.au, or via phone on 132 849.

Glad to hear the Yoof are finally going to be used as a curtain raiser...will help raise awareness of them and the YL in general.

Good news for us about Miller, but poor sod, and as for QLD...Moore with his cancer and now Miller with a hernia? welcome to Laurie=land

You will have seen that Charlie holds his hip a LOT when he is in pain.

I actually have the same thing, from years of playing and umpiring AFL, as well as a lifelong (losing) battle with the Double Cheesburgers & Super Supremes. When I cool down after playing Golf, I struggle to walk.

Basically, it feels like someone has hold of the muscles around your hip and hip flexor and is trying to rip them out of your body. Think a 10 inch sharp needle being jabbed into your hip and moving downwards, rapidly. I have a lot of sympathy for Charlie.

I fear that a combination of the Roar's pace and their whole "we're awesome away from home" thing will tear our 'defence' to shreds.

I hope the lads up front have their scoring boots on, because I sense a multi-goal game (3-2, 4-3, something like that).

Crowd around the 10, 11 000 mark.  Weather permitting of course.

With out Miller I think they will struggle. If we can close down Zullo I think we can keep a clean sheet unless one of Minnecon's hit and hope shots goes in.

2-0 to us

I read he will get injections, but still a massive chance of missing the game

Great effort by our club to overlook Miller when we had the chance to sign him, well done big wig office boys ::)

Id rather not imagine it Mick, makes me realise how little the people that run the club actually know about football.

"makes me realise how little the people that run the club actually know about football" - like the people who signed Simon, Jedinak, Bojic and McAllister for instance?

If you knew what the situation was behind Miller not signing with us, you would not be saying that
