First good news of the week so far (from the local rag in Brissy):
QUEENSLAND Roar physiotherapist Tony Ganter says Charlie Miller will need a "minor miracle" to play this weekend, conceding the club is losing its battle to keep the star playmaker on the park for the rest of the season.
Miller, the scorer of seven goals in 13 A-League matches, aggravated his hernia complaint in the Roar's 1-1 away draw with Sydney last Friday night.
Ganter all but ruled him out of Saturday's clash against Central Coast Mariners, admitting it had got to the stage where surgery and a minimum six-week lay-off was the likely option.
"He's gone from feeling the best he's felt for a while before the Sydney game to feeling the worst he's felt after it," Ganter said. "He may get an injection in the hernia area, but that's probably only delaying the inevitable surgery. It may be a case of biting the bullet and getting the surgery done and have him back in time for the finals."
But the third-placed Roar are still no certainties to make the final four in what is an extremely tight competition.
With eight rounds remaining, only six points separate top side Melbourne and sixth-placed Sydney.
