ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Round 1 - F3 Derby #42, Gosford

I dare say Monty's not included because he's part of the football staff and would want to be helping prepare for the main game.

Also, an update on TV - those with FOX will find the game on 501 now instead of 505.

Haven't been this excited for Round 1 in a long time! Kudos to the club for heavily promoting this on social media. Shame about the FFA not coming to the party. What's the feeling on the coast? Big crowd expected?

Should be with both teams feeling more confident this season than in the past.

I'm excited for the new season, we should be much more competitive! Don't under estimate the Jets though this will be a tough opening game! Baro and Brama will be so important for us

I can't see the line-up being any different to this;
---------------Glover--------------
McGing--Baro--Golec--JRose
--------Hiariej---Brama-----------
Appiah------DaSilva-------Pain
---------------Asdrubal-------------
Bench: Kennedy, LRose, Bingham, Berry, Buhagiar. (Possibly Wales for Buhagiar & Ascroft for Berry)

I'd have Ascroft on the bench as potential cover for LB/RB over Berry. Other than that i think it's spot on.

Except that maybe, just maybe Kennedy gets the nod from Okon over Glover as the #1 for the first game.

(not that I'd like that to happen, Glover has impressed me far more than what I've seen from both of them in pre-season)

Agree, offers far more versatility.
Berry at just DM
Harry at DM, RB & anywhere in the Back4

And despite Ascroft most likely NOT being 90mins match fit ...... we're talking about a spot on the bench.

Paulo said on the podcast that the keeper who would start the season would get 90 minutes against Sydney FC in the pre-season game. Glover played that game, so I think he will start.

Couple of little injuries, shows why a Roux didn't play against SFC.

With DDS not ready for 90mins and no Hoole need Berry or Powell on bench or both.

Bench for me: Kennedy L Rose Berry/Powell Trent and Appiah. Paulo likes to sub the wingers and DDS can't go 90

Would like to turn Appiah into a backup RB. Busts his gut on defence to get back and can play attacking as well. Just would need a lot of position training.
