ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

ummmm havent we got oil wells / platforms off the W.A coast???...if so why aint we using them for us??

Because we are a net exporter of crude oil Recky. We sell it overseas as crude then buy it back as refined petroleum products.

As to other options, any of the vegetable/crop based sources of oil that can be turned into oil are generally going to take away from food growing land and as such we will have less agricultural land to cultivate.

As to opec if I could buy shares in it I would because due to capitalism these guys will charge at a profit meaning we will never see 80c a litre fuel prices again unless we become a comunist state.

Onto food, well considering a lot of the prime agricultural land on the east coast has been converted into housing areas (read gosford and every other area close to the coast) we won't see low prices on these either.

My suggestion plant a vegie patch start riding a push bike and prepare for the end of the world as best you can. ;)

Yeah. Again Capitalism at it's finest. why refine it here when labour costs are cheaper overseas would just eat into the profits.

I'm still curious as to what wilson sees as conspiratory theories in this thread.
