ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Rd 6 v Adelaide (home)

that was a cracker of a cross by Oar. Couldn't have been more perfect. Silvera mistimed the header.
We've blown a LOT of chances - crosses going in with nobody getting on the end of it, free headers going straight to the keeper, that sort of thing

I was so excited for this evening despite last week, in the belief we’re a polar opposite side to last year. We’re not.

Muzz has been hanging around matty too long, he’s refused to make any movement to the near post today.

I have to wonder if one of our DMs has handed their spot to Kim today. I wouldn’t be confident of keeping my spot if I were Tongyik or Fox either. Pair Ziggy with Rowles and let Miller make his case. Clisby not off the hook either but we’re lighter on coverage there.

Quite deflating.

I managed to make this game after all - and brought 4 peripheral fans along.
We left at half time.

We started well, but the 3 goals against was amateur hour.

I went to watch the 2nd half replay but accidentally caught the score so didn't bother.

After the last 5 years my resilience in stomaching these kinds of losses is at its lowest - sitting here right now I feel like I need a break from supporting this team for a while. I'm sure it won't last but I'm about fed up.

Progress from the spoon is good and all but I don't see us making the top 6 as is and we're yet to really test our pathetic depth with inevitable injuries and cards. Odds are it'll get worse rather than better.

This was a really deflating loss.
Deflating because we didn't pick up after last week - and because everything about tonight's performance reeked of the last 3 seasons.
Hard not to feel a little concerned about the season from this, though that's just (understandable) pessimism from the last few seasons creeping in

DDS back will help and there's still the potential striker signing. But if DDS is the difference then the depth issue is real.

Tongyk was just so slow.

We aren’t as good as we think we are. Perth flattered us because of their travel. Newcastle should have beat us.

Replace Kennedy with Birighitti and we would be second last behind a vey poor Wellington

Just a few points.

Kim needs to start.
Silverra is good but still has a fair way to go.
Clisby is not good enough. Good fullbacks are scarce as hens' teeth. Time to start blooding some youth.
I want a striker who will run to near post.
Too many players showed a poor first touch. Just not good enough.
Ziggy needs to start as a centre half. If for nothing else, for his organising.
Oar is a class above everyone else.
Birra made one mistake, but a bad one. Still >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Kennedy.

Overall I still see this season as a step in the right direction. Many do not realise how low we have sunk over the last five years.
We are rebuilding and I see this season as a positive if there are three teams behind us at the end.
A lot of youngsters will be better next year. Some more players who are past it will be gone (more than many will expect). Hopefully we will not be seen as a last resort and we will pick up some quality with the spaces that will be made.

It may not be obvious, but we are progressing. But f***, it is going to take more than one season to dig us out of the hole.

I am prepared to be patient.

Amongst all the justifiable negativity we should remember Izzo made some very nice saves tonight so it’s not like we didn’t make reasonable chances. We just need to steady the ship and get our backs and DMs back on their game.

Disagree. For every Izzo save Birighitti made two. We were so behind Adelaide it was was poor. Horrible, horrible tonight

Agree - we found out that Ruon is the new Cisse and Clisby is a terrible, terrible footballer. Even Milan had a shocker sadly. Our passing was dire and this was a last season performance.
Adelaide showed what a properly funded football club should be - we arent one by miles. Too many players who are simply not good enough.
AS for Simon? We had Roberts on the bench and he surely couldnt have played worse. Every touch was terrible and he lost most of his heading duels too

The only positive I saw about Simon coming on was that Staj made an aggressive move in subbing a DM for a striker. But otherwise yeah I’d rather have seen someone who was going to run after the ball. They had Roberts and Ruiz-Diaz they could have looked to. You’re on for 20 minutes, if you aren’t chasing like Oar then you shouldn’t be out there at all.
