He loved the Jets so much that when he came back from China he went to Sydney FC.
And threatened to sue the Jets if they didn't let him go to China.
Then, as you say, went to Smurfs.
Then when he got released from Smurfs & back to the Jets, he gets sent off AFTER his first match back, then later gets sacked for dressing room rebellion, and unlike Carney doesn't get re-selected after the management change. With friends like that, who needs enemies!
As for breaking Hutch, better MEN than him have tried & failed, unless he went for Hutch's goolies.

Joel Griffiths taking a few shots at Hutch.

To paraphrase, Hutch is shit which is why he never left the Mariners and if the two were still playing Griffiths qould try to break Hutch.

Haha! That would've been so much more convincing, if it hadn't come from a player whose greatest claim to fame, was hitting a linesman in the crotch... ;)

As a football commentator...
Griffiths makes for a really good sackwhacker.
He should offer to box all the referees balls for charity.

Had a great laugh at that interview though; gee he still comes across well. :piralaugh:

Hey Joel thanks for being here, Jets legend blah blah... JOEL: Thanks - just wanted to say well done on spitting out two sentences about how I awesome I am, because you used to be totally f**king shit mate.

Now Haliti is out and scum are a striker short Joel, will you be back by Jan? JOEL: No, but I've given Scott Miller my "recommendations" so if we sign anyone half decent, technically, the goals are still mine.

That new strikers looking good huh Joel?
JOEL: "I'm not convinced." about what clearly looks to be the best striker the jets have had last 4 years. "No technical ability" But he's scored three already? If he can get twelve for the season... JOEL (interrupting): If he get's twelve, It'll be because of Carney. JOEL: But hey, if he can be bangen im in, who cares if he's technically only one tenth the player I am. And I'll be the first to say that to him.

Joel thanks so much for coming on, might be able to get you back for the next Derby or something, wouldn't that be great? JOEL: (deadpan) We'll see.

There really are some people who just have dick head tattooed onto the inside of their foreheads at birth.

I love the fact that things are heating up for this derby. Hasn't really been a derby for a few seasons, so this is great to see. COYY!!!!!

That's a big problem

He is a big loss but the positive is Fitzy comes straight in for him and it allows Austin to continue his good (better than Fitz) work on the left.

For me Fitzy is a very useful utility that can cover LM, CM or RM without too much drop in quality. I don't rate him as much as Tony does but he is bloody useful.

Newcastle's Mullen out for up to two months:

Newcastle Jets could be without Daniel Mullen for up to two months after the defender underwent surgery on his knee this week.

Mullen was already expected to be sidelined for at least four weeks but it could take longer depending on how he recovers from the procedure, coach Scott Miller says.

"(The surgeon) says elite athletes recover quicker from it," Miller said.

"The positive is it's not in a weight-bearing situation in his knee, it's towards the back of his knee, which means the recovery period could be shorter."

Mullen originally suffered the injury last week in what Miller described as an innocuous training ground collision.

The Jets copped another blow ahead of Saturday's derby against the Central Coast Mariners with utility Ben Kantarovski also ruled out with a minor calf strain.

Miller described utility Cameron Watson as the 'natural' choice to replace Kantarovski in midfield, but said: "We've got to be unnatural to basically unrest the opposition."

That could mean a tweak of personnel or perhaps tactics, but Miller was giving nothing away on Thursday, playing a straight bat ahead of his first derby as a senior coach.

While the Mariners have been all too happy to bait the Jets, taunting them about their style of play and ribbing them over last season's wooden spoon, Miller clearly has no interest reciprocating.

"It's a massive occasion for both clubs ... (but) it's just another game for us, in a sense. That's the way we look at things," he said.

"We need to get back to basics now and understand that we need to win and maximise our points at the Hunter."

Meanwhile, Miller has not given up hope of finding an injury replacement player for attacker Labinot Haliti, who is out for the season.

Having failed in his bid to sign former A-League players Andrew Nabbout and Alex Smith, Miller said trialists will be invited to train with the Jets, starting next week.

"I'm not offering contracts, I'm going to look at them over a 10-day period to assess them, see where they're at, if they culturally fit into the club and are up for the challenge," he said.

Going down like flies on dog-shit.

Couldn't have happened at a better time.

As for this ......
Having failed in his bid to sign former A-League players Andrew Nabbout and Alex Smith, Miller said trialists will be invited to train with the Jets, starting next week.

:vhappy: Andrew Nabbout trialled with CCM pre-season & ........... TW passed him over for Heff 2.0.

Nabbout & Smith both would rather not have dog-shit on the bottom of their thongs either. :D
