I thought pretty much all of the lads had brilliant performances, Storm was very solid in the 3 CB’s, Brian clearly had his best match of the season. Paull had a great game, no weak tackles. Kuzi was very impressive. Steely had his best game so far too, positive passes. We just need a genuine goal threat. Kuol should’ve had 3 in the first half. I won’t ramble on him again, but I will say, working hard is the bare minimum requirement for any player. We need a goal threat, he isn’t it.

Biggest takeaway for me was there was an obvious increase in energy and sharpness, the break did wonders. Theo and Sains coming back into the fold in December, hopefully clear a couple dead woods and maybe sign one or two in January. We’ll be fine in the league.

Yep.

Definitely one for the video during the week.

There's an interesting bit of analysis from a guy in the UK (John Harrison I think his name is - he is a specialist GK analyst) that goes through how the decision making for coming or staying changes the chance of a goal being scored (I hate the term xG).

He's young though so he will learn these things as he goes.
I’m no GK expert but I liked when he stayed on his line in the first half when Aquilina broke away, he stayed big at the near post, forced doubt into aquilina who’s cut across was trash but DPC was sharp and I genuinely think he would’ve had a high % chance to smother any tap in attempt had Brian not cut it out. DPC clearly our best GK in the squad. I don’t feel nervous with him there.

Not a chance. No striker worth his salt would miss an opporunity to tap it in himself. Especially when he's failing to score. At best he got a slightest of touches on his attempt, and that bamboozled the Scummer.

Brandtman seems lost . His reactions are glacial at the moment
I think he is improving and is starting to find his place, comes with regular game time.

On another note I feel Paull is definitely improving again with regular game time. Watch their counter attack it’s storm and Paull lumbering back and that’s fitness. Fitness is the easiest to improve. Paull made some very good interceptions last night.

I wonder if we seen that performance from Brian as he had an experienced Storm on the pitch. Was definitely a MOM performance some of his tackles were sublime especially the one on Adams in the first half. Should have been a goal.

Just seen Jacko at the airport (flying out to Kobe)
Congratulated him on last night and he was absolutely bouncing. Said " that's what we needed, we kick on from here"
That’s what I’m hoping, first win in all games and first time we have had a lead in a match which we did ok keeping our heads.

One day we will score first, need an early goal against Kobe then park the bus.

Also think Sabit needs a mention. He was huge and had scummers bouncing off him in all directions. He has a bright future this lad and his confidence is building with every game.

. haven't seen much chat about SFE ... which is unusual

. i thought there would have been more about Alou's yellow for hurting the underside of Cancar's foot ... and the subsequent dive from Doka (apparently)

. i know it only took until half time for Harper to catch up on what was plain to see live ... but is Unite round VAR free for the sake of ... umm ... unity?

Almost identical to last year, we go 4 games without a win, have an international break, play the Scum, and beat them despite not being anywhere near our best. Hopefully like last year this is the win that gets the boys starting to click..

I’m refusing to give him air time.

Kaltak was immense but sadly his ‘big tackle’ moments although inspiring are still a sign teams piercing through.

We are putting in a lot of running and charging but then loosing it without creating a big chance and when we finally do, we fluff it or hand back possession.

I would like to see our mids and striker take the lead on attack and let the backs focus on defence.

Need stronger lines and structure.
