If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

We got the win. We harried well.

The positives.

Kaltak was back to his brilliant best.
Storm Roux played a blinder. His bit of quality, experience and vision probably made the difference.
Sash continues to look the goods and gives us some dynamism.
Feijao had a good cameo.
Steele was much better and got an assist.

3pts Kaltak
2pts Roux
1pt Kuol ......simply for his work rate.
Great post until the end. Kuol right now isn't good enough for the AL

Looking at it again I reckon he should have stayed and backed kaltak to get across to pressure the shot. Gibson is on his left and I don't think he beats DPC from there.
That is just working out how to play together. Kaltak would have got there but deferred to the keeper. They needed to talk rather than exchange furtive glances.

Yep.

Definitely one for the video during the week.

There's an interesting bit of analysis from a guy in the UK (John Harrison I think his name is - he is a specialist GK analyst) that goes through how the decision making for coming or staying changes the chance of a goal being scored (I hate the term xG).

He's young though so he will learn these things as he goes.

I thought Paull looked good for bits, he’s growing in confidence but those brain fades when tracking back are brutal. Kaltak was awesome great to have him back, but I reckon for knowing what a derby is about and pushing everyone to attack aggressively, Roux was awesome. Absolute mongrel, played brave passes forward that demanded bravery from the passee, chopped and rekt when needed, bombed forward. Was fun to watch. Brandtman reminds me of early era Sammy Silvera. He’s got something and a bit of crazy eyes about him that could come good as a final package. I will go against the council, I like having him out there. If you don’t like that, I swear to god I’ll give him 3pts.

Absolutely shit football generally across the game, would have only been of interest to us and Newcastle, but

I’ll take the win, active sounds great with a roof. We had more fans by a fair bit so glad we took the prize. Wasn’t a great game and plenty of frustrating moments. Improving but it’s a slow burn and expected with our casualty ward. Just need to keep plugging away for hopefully a strong finish in 2025.

Paull was jogging back. No sense of urgency. Aquilina just ran straight past him
I think that might have been his normal pace. Bloke is growing into the role but doesn’t have pace. Mauragis looked like he might have been able to but didn’t, although that really should have been Paula’s man to deal with.

I think he also struggles in the back end of games.

There were a few times in the first half he got back and across.

There was also one early in the second half - they broke from a corner and he was flying back.

Storm is the same in the late stages of games - doesn't have the legs. Couple of times just before he got subbed he got run past like a statue.
