Agree. I watched the scum last night and zadkovic completely outplayed engelaar, by far the biggest and one of the most dangerous midfielders in the league, marked him out of the game. I'm afraid of what might happen to Kim if he plays in the middle. I'd personally like to see simon play, take a few long balls, knock a few guys over and cause a bit of havoc!

I reckon the team will rise to the occasion for this one. The Jets are too inconsistent anyway, plus home ground advantage and the importance of picking up 3 points, especially with that mob breathing down our necks in the run to the finals, is no doubt something that will be talked about this week. Also working in our favour is that while Brisbane, Adelaide and possibly WSW/ the Tards are a step ahead right now, we are still better than SFC or the Scum at our best. I'd be surprised if we played sub-par for this game, considering what is at stake.

. i agree that kim should start in the acl game ... much more his style. the derby game is always a bruising encounter so would not expect him to start ... unless last week was a ruse and he will be dining on concrete all week

. out of the box thought for this game ... start matty simon as no. 10 with dukie up front. for those that can remember it worked quite well when arnie tried it a few years ago (against the heart IIRC). if our opponents come into the game with a plan to smash kim out of the game it will ruin their game plan when matty turns that on its head

. hey it's a derby after all. recently we have tried to play our normal game in the derby but 'they' have only appeared intent on destruction ... time for a squad and community galvanising show of fight

the best news coming out of the weekend is that after newcastle's 3 years of rebuilding with youth they are poised to loose that talent at the end of the season without ever achieving anything with them…

Would like to think we would get a better crowd but i'm to sure about that. Not much publicity about the NRL being in town yet. I was reading the paper & they said at Gosford & I thought what? The NRL website still has it for Bluetongue so they might be disappointed when they get here. LOL

So the big boppers are going to try & ruin the best surface in the A League.
