Fantastic. Second home game I've ever missed. What a shame. Need to find a replay... anyone able to make a recommendation?

Looking forward to more thoughts and reviews glad everyone had a great night out and a win - been so few and far between.

What can you say other than that was a gusty dominant performance..

Playing Berry as the 10 worked very well, Monty had his best game this season and maybe because he had players to pass to.

I think Okon, has made a pack with the devil, as I am sure the Izzo we have playing for us this year is not the same Izzo we had playing for us last year. All I can think of is Okon made a deal with the devil and he has given us a Izzo look alike.

AAARrrrrr the Trent boy, please sign him the day he turns 18 he torn them apart tonight and Pain also had a great game...

BTW the price the devil has charged Okon for the Izzo replacement is we are never to be given a penalty.... for the love of the holy mother Mary two clear pens and FFS Roy was onside for his goal ruled offside.

Roy hhhhmmmm has to be one of the best strikers in the league and we are lucky to have him had another great game tonight.

This is a maybe but back to the devil pack ... Storm Boy is learning how to defend and then not panic the improvement in his play under Okon is amazing IMO.

Travie had his mo's but again very solid in the main.
The centre backs both played well as did Scotty [or beam me up for Dibbo]

Anyone believe in a jinx .... so if you could not make the match tonight and we won.... are you a jinx ... just saying I could be wrong...

Only two bad bits tonight, we have moved to Bay 37, and the comments guys please of pass it, get it up the park and the moans every time the ball went back ... OMG it was hard... other thing at the end of the match the ground announcer was talking about some local kids thing and kept saying soccer... small but as the ground announcer its called Football..

Great night... clean sheet... and the club lived up to its professional best and after the match you could not buy a coffee....

What a night what a team, active Bay was epic tonight really got the crowd into the game seemed like a lot more people got into the chants probably helped by the amount of fans who learnt the chants at the Newcastle game.
IN OKON WE TRUST

Great stuff. Best game we've played for years. First home win for nearly 12 months. First clean sheet for God knows how long. First game we've scored in both halves this season & probably some time before that. What made it sweeter was Reddy being on the receiving end (and Reddy is a class keeper). Very happy Mariners fan.

Last clean sheet was 11/04/2015, a 1-0 home win v Wanderers. Prev to that was 5 rounds earlier, 1-0 at home to M City 08/03/2015.
Last 2-0 win was 04/01/15 at home to City.

Guesssing the whole team defended? Love him but that's easier to do without Fab.

Perth still had the better territory and a decent amount of possession - so we must have defended really well? Luck? Bit of both?

Very good game. Pain and Budgie took them on from the very 1st minute.

A quality number 10 would have run riot and we would have scored 5. Berry did well but one time in the 2nd half called for the ball on the edge of the box, it came to him in heavy traffic and he lost his nerve and shuffled it wide instead of trying to finish from the perfect position.
Having said that until we bring in Joe Cole In Jan transfer window, he is a steady player and will only get better.
Also a rumour that Robbie Keane wants to come to Oz!!

Budgie got stuck in.
Galloway is such a good pick up. He is better defensively than Micky but links up so well with Pain. His anticipation is better as well.
MgGing and Harry were great, especially Harry and Storm is starting to do his job and even pulled of 2 brilliant tackles. Still prone to losing his man a bit and one dreadful pass to know one but he looked like a starting 11 player and a good one.

What a fantastic night. That was the best we have played in such a long time. Whilst there were some moments, the improvement each week is there to see, and this match was what the 2nd half should have been last week against the Jets.

Firstly, congratulations to the coaching staff. Having a clear structural this season makes all the difference. What I liked, was that when you looked at the bench. they were clearly tactically up for this. You could see the coaching adjustments being made, a far cry from previous seasons. And the passion, I just love the quite, determined passion.

Izzo - Congratulations on your 1st clean sheet. For the amount of pressure you have been under, it is a true testament of character that you have dusted yourself off and worked hard at your game. Keep it going.

Stormy - Probably one of the best defensive games I've seen him play. He seem to have gotten a look more confidence in those around him.

McGing - Solid, did well

Harry - Great goal, thought he may of run out of legs given 1st start, but didn't.

Galloway - It makes such a difference when you have someone with composure in the back 4.

Tav - I really like watching him play. His controlling of the play is getting better better each week. His football suggests he is really happy on the Coast.

Monty - Best game for a long time. Deserved the standing ovation

Berry - Outstanding, if the Powell experiment is over, then I'm happy to watch what happens with the Berry one

Trent - Extend his contact. I want to look forward to watching him for years, then wish him all the best as he is snapped up by a big overseas club. I don't even want to mention the few little errors made because that would detract from the great game he had. So proud to watch a local kid, with so much ability, take the chance he has been given and make the most of it.

Pain - How I wish that rocket went in instead of hitting the crossbar, it would of been deserving as another great game. We sure got the better of the Austin swap.

Roy - Quality, real quality, glad he got his goal after the poor offside call. The more service he gets, the more goals we'll see.

And finally, to the active support, small in numbers, but big in voice and heart, Well done :overheadl::shoutclap:

Can't wait for WSW game!!!

hey?, Hey?....how about that then, thats the best game the boys have played in many a yonk, maybe my "the Okon theory will click after New Years" is slightly ahead of schedule, sure young Berry was a smidge gun shy BUT between Izzo, Gallaway, Connor and ..well, every fella, that game was always gonna be ours.
Speaking of Budgie, he got a couple of touch ups hey, one by bloody Griffiths which shoulda been a red and the second one was a good a pelanty opportunity as ever BUT the whistle jockey in the purdy green shirt , while having a decent game, was a bit card hesitant early on, although I did say to wombat and OzBaggie that this game aint gonna end with the same amount of players it started with.
Fabio getting 8 minutes at the end was vaguely interesting, maybe the Budgie experiment is in full swing now, after last night Paulo knows he can take a hit and still flip them the bird, so we may see more of this team sheet construction....
and finally...WE KEPT A CLEAN SHEET, WE KEPT A CLEAN SHEET...you know the rest

I only just made kick off so whilst I sledged the 7.50 start I was appreciating it last night. So glad I made the effort and it was good to see 5,200 odd supporters also make the effort and I haven't experienced a crowd with that level of atmosphere at BT for years. We are on the up trajectory and just took a significant jump.

The whole team played well and I haven't been a McGing fan but were credit is due he had a great game. Maybe Okon could see something in him, looks like his confidence is sky high after the goal last week. In fact you can see confidence levels improving in all the young guys especially Izzo.

Can't wait to go to work and stick it up some people and I'm proudly wearing my Mariners cuff links.

Didn't seem *as bad* as has been. Even threw in a compliment about how the Mariners were playing that wasn't a veiled insult.

Big positive for the Mariners last night was that the average age of the starting 11 was about 24. We had Monty, Tavares and O'Donovan over the age of 30 but everyone else was 24 or younger, and we even had two teenagers. Ascroft, McGing, Berry, Buhagiar, Izzo and Galloway are all still eligible for NYL.

That's got to be the way we do things - be smart with kids, try to play smart and sign for potential rather than price.

Re the penalty shouts, just because our player falls over doesn't mean it's a foul. Unlike recent games, I didn't see us denied sny penalties.
