ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I know we were advertised as a 3-5-2 on the weekend and maybe that is we way we would have played if Faty was not injured. Would Fab work as a #10 in that system. Assuming Faty and Posco unavailable

Izzo
McGing-----------Ascroft --------Galloway
Roux------------------------------------------------Pain
Monty---------------------Tavares
Fabio
Trent-----------------Roy
The bench Could have Appiah, Bingers, Berry and Rose/Powell with Monty dropping back if a defender is injured

Unfortunately Okon won't change the system as he is FFA 4-3-3 through and through. However, if he were to change it up, I'd modify your formation slightly to mimic the 3-4-3 of Chelsea. They were leaking goals because of poor defence that lacked mobility (Faty/McGing) and had no out-and-out number 10, same problems as Mariners!

Ascroft-----------McGing --------Galloway

Roux-----------Monty-----------Taveres---------------Neil

Trent-----------------Roy---------------------Pain

Roux and Neil will be much better in a system where they can get forward and not have to be relied upon in the last line of defence. Monty and Tav can break up play and add protection to the back three as well as drive forward through midfield. I can't see Mariners going on a 13 game win streak, but it couldn't be any worse with the cattle we have available.

Bench of Fabio, Powell, Berry/Rose, Faty/Poso & Pearce.

I like it. I think it best suits our squads strengths.
Today's telegraph says okon confirmed Fabio and Taveras will return to the starting lineup against SFC

Wonder if it means Fabio is going central or it could be Pain who gives way... Fab right, Trent left... that's hard on Pain though. I think he should be starting.

I don't mind trying Fab central if Monty has Tav back beside him. Powell is simply not working there so I don't see how it gets much worse. Okon said he thought Fab was fantastic when he came on, and he was. People have all said Fab is not a ten, certainly not a genuine one, but what have you seen of him there to be so sure? Whereas Powell I think we can be sure of.

A 352 does make sense in so much that its a formation that is balanced between having two strikers but still being able to play possession football. It doesn't absolve the wingbacks of defensive duties, they're just required to put in monster shifts. But it does also let you reinforce your wing play and Trent and Roy forward would be pretty terrifying - I think they could become an amazing partnership. They both know how to pick a pass, play a final ball and finish. Trent gets his head up and looks comfortable where other young players typically look rushed and fail to see whats actually happening on the field, not just in their heads. Fitzy leaps to mind. And he has the speed to get in behind and slide the ball across where roy wants it.

SFC are flying and its for us to stop them. Be very sweet to be the ones to end their run.

Just in: JvS has resigned as head coach of City. Reportedly returning home to help look after his dying father.

David Squires on ... a true A-League hero: the ball boy who duped Tim Cahill

Our resident cartoonist takes a look at everyone’s favourite A-League figure of the week: the ball boy who deprived Melbourne City star Tim Cahill of the chance to unleash his signature goal celebration.

If he hadn't signed on as CEO of our greatest rival - probably. As a result, I don't think so. JMO though.

(that doesn't change his fantastic legacy and everything he did for the club either)

I'd definitely give him a lifetime membership. He should be the first person inducted into our Hall of Fame in my opinion. There is no need to burn that particular bridge.

My all time favourite people connected to the Mariners are Dutchy, Lawrie and Gumps.

Lawrie didnt want to go to Newcastle but he refused to be a Charlesworth stooge. That gets him even more credibility in my eyes.
