ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Arnie -
"We needed to tie up second spot because of the Asian Champions League," Arnold said after the match.

''...That might change selection policy for next week (against Adelaide United), and (the following clash with) Melbourne Heart. Definitely. I think I'll rest a lot of players.

"We'll see how the boys pull up. They're just out on their feet. I've given them off until Friday and we play (in Adelaide on) Sunday."

It might not stop there.

The Mariners are away to Chinese club Guizhou Renhe on April 9, then slated to host their home semi-final on April 14.

Arnold said it's unrealistic for his charges to go full tilt in both matches.

"I've got a plan in my head of what I want to do. It's either a youth team in the semi-final, or a youth team in the Champions League. Players can't do both," he said.

"...Then you've got the grand final, if we make it, on the Sunday and we've got Asian Champions League on the Tuesday in South Korea.

"So I don't know which one we're going to concentrate on. It makes it difficult."

Ray Gatt (Australian) just reported that the players wages haven't been paid this month.

They will run a story later today he says.

Her we go again

Or it could be a staff member. Airing these issues means the powers that be have to do something to solve them (particularly long term).

It's slim but my hopes are reborn. I believe we can and will win our remaining 2 games. a resurgent Sydney have the chance to do us a solid and knock off a weakened wsw. then a desperate jest only needs to hold them to a draw and the plate is retained. more unlikely than not i'll concede but not unfeasible either

I don't hold much hope either, but good lord what an extraordinary end to the ordinary season if it happens. I've mentioned it before, but what a lining up for future rivalry, if we were to grasp back the plate on the final day, from the Wanderers. Not to mention how it would pain the Jesters to have offered it to us - my own pain of having relied on them would certainly be dulled by the joy of retaining the pate.
The drama would be extraordinary and I suppose a man can dream, but I have my doubt that Sydney can do it, even with all of those players missing... :(

Scenario:

We discover our mojo and win in Adelaide.
Del Piero FC maul WSW in the Sydney derby.
WSW get the 'wobblies' and are ripe for the picking against the resurgent Jets in Newcastle.
For the first, and hopefully only, time I'll be cheering on the Jets like a madman.

'If it's a Dream, Don't Wake Me Up' territory:

The Jets win in Newcastle but miss out on a top six spot (who cares, it's the result that counts).
The following day we smash the struggling Heart at home and lift the Plate (no reason for it not to be there if the scenario is right).

I don't think I can really handle this, hoping for sackwack to score last weekend, now hoping for a scum win. What's happening to me???

I have rationalised this.

I can live with WSW getting a result if it ensures that the scum miss out.

The scum still need other results to go their way - if they win they (basically) hand us the plate and still may not make the finals
