He hasn't been a disaster at every club he has been involved with.
He may well have learned some important lessons.

He's going to work with all groups. Let him start with a clean slate and give him every opportunity to succeed because we sink or swim together.

Last month he attended the Mariners game against Melbourne Victory at North Sydney Oval which heightened concerns for some fans that the club could be relocated away from Gosford, where the smaller population base has been an obstacle to crowd numbers and finances.

Then he likened the unease felt by Mariners fans to those of West Ham supporters over the move from Upton Park to London's Olympic Stadium in 2016-2017.

As many of us commented at the time he already looks stupid comparing the move of a few miles to a new stadium where all your home games are played to us playing/relocating numerous home games 50 odd miles away.

. he would be well advised to do a bit of research before speaking to the media. ideally he should be talking to the 'various supporter groups' before he tells the media how we will respond after the club has made its decision

I'm hoping that this might be some kind of reverse Peter Principle thing (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Principle). The Peter Principle basically says that a manager will be promoted to the level of their own incompetence. In Peter Storrie's case, the level of his incompetence appears to be in the EPL. Surely you would think that he'd be able to perform in the HAL. He has at least one thing in his favour... we are already in dire financial trouble

Apart from the fact that Peter Storrie fits the stereotype that all Englishmen are superior and know what is best for their colonial minions - if it is good enough for West Ham it must be good enough for the Mariners - it does beg the question of what on earth is Bruce Stalder's role at the club? The job description of both appointments seem very similar.
The day Charlesworth, Stalder and Storrie are gone from our beautiful football club cannot come soon enough for me.

It is important that CCM fans understand what the appointment of Peter Storrie means. Please do not worry about chips on shoulder and 'Colonial minions'. This situation is vastly more serious than that . I am not a a CCM fan but am a long standing football fan in Australia and the UK. I do not want to see the demise of your club but the posts above seem to indicate that the full reality of the situation is not understood. Please read on.

Peter Storrie presided over Portsmouth FC as CEO from 2002 to 2010 and then stayed on in a consulting role.

During his period of tenure Portsmouth spent kings' ransoms on players such as Jerome Defoe, Peter Crouch, Niko Kranjcar, Silvain Distain, Glen Johnson and so forth. The transfer fees and wages were vastly beyond what Portsmouth could afford. It was a policy of economic suicide. Mr Storrie was CEO. It was his job to know what this was doing to his business.

Mr Storrie worked alongside an extremely dubious owner of Portsmouth FC called Alexander Gaydamak. Apparently Mr Gaydamak's dad had oil wells, although no proceeds from this were ever seen. Again, it was Mr Storrie's job to know that this man was a crook. Mr Gaydamak proceeded to asset strip the club and disappeared over the horizon with the proceeds. He sold the rump, by some confidence trick, to Suleiman al-Fahim who took one look at the books and got out six weeks later. This took the club into administration and, shortly after, very close to being wound up by its creditors.

Storrie was arrested together with Harry Redknapp and others over the allegedly dodgy transfer of Andy Faye to Newcastle. They had clever lawyers and got off. This was to the massive amusement of the English football supporting community. There was a strong whiff that other transfer deals were dodgy but Mr Gaydamak had untouchable accounts in Luxemburg, the Virgin Islands and so forth. They got away with it.

Nevertheless, Portsmouth were also charged by the UK Tax authorities over creative accounting. Again Mr Storrie's had to know what clever tricks were being played. On the week that the court case began Mr Storrie suddenly resigned leaving the club with a very serious court case and estimated £150,000,000 of debt.

This led to the club imploding and descending from the Premier League to the fourth tier, where they are now perched just 6 points above a relegation position. Four years after he left Porstmouth went from the Premiership to being candidates to exit the football league altogether.

This man is incompetent, crooked and dangerous. I recommend strongly that you do further research for yourselves and decide what you can do about it. If CCM goes like Portsmouth you will not have a club in a couple of years' time.

You guys are forgetting the most important part.
Storrie blames the owners loss of funds in the GFC. So he did a Man City and went burco while the money was there instead of running the club within its means.
At the mariners there is no rich owner promising finances to do what he wants.

Peter Storrie completes his agreed tenure with Central Coast Mariners

The Central Coast Mariners can today confirm that after two years as the club’s Executive Vice Chairman, Peter Storrie will complete his contracted role with the club mid-November.

Storrie was appointed by Mariners’ Owner, Mike Charlesworth in December 2014 and has completed an overhaul of the club which included the restructure of both the football and administrative side of the business and also the establishment of the Central Coast Mariners Academy, along with the appointment of Chief Executive Officer Shaun Mielekamp, appointment of Financial Director Kathryn Duncan and most recently the appointment of Head Coach Paul Okon.

Outgoing Executive Vice Chairman, Peter Storrie departs with the best wishes of the Central Coast Mariners and thanked the club’s Members, supporters, players and staff for their commitment during a period that saw widespread changes.

“I would like to thank Mike Charlesworth for the opportunity to be involved with the Central Coast Mariners,” Storrie said.

“Thank you to all of the players, staff, volunteers and supporters of the Central Coast Mariners for welcoming me with open arms.

“Over my past couple of years at the Mariners I hope that I have passed on my experience in football to the staff and I am confident that the club will continue to grow from strength-to-strength and it is now time to step back and let the leadership of Paul Okon, Shaun Mielekamp and Kathryn Duncan take the club forward.” Storrie said.

Mike Charlesworth took the opportunity to thank Storrie for his contribution to the club and support he has shown in the last two years.

“Peter has steered the club through a poignant time in our history and he will always be highly regarded for his contribution,” Charlesworth said. “I have all the confidence that the team and structure for which Peter has put in place will see the club experience success both on and off field.

“I wish Peter all the best in his future endeavours and I am confident that he will achieve similar success in his next venture,” Charlesworth said.

The club would like to gratefully thank Peter for all of his hard work and expertise that he has invested into the club and looks forward to welcoming him on match days whenever he returns to Australia.
