ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Please post all your doomsday prophecies here.

My prediction: Josh Rose's poor form continues, Duke continues to be used on the wing and Simon remains isolated and ineffective, and our new star play maker suffers the same problems everybody trying to make plays suffers and is isolated and lacking options.

Also Dibo and Wombat will continue to argue about the effectiveness of il capitano Hutchinson.

League finish: 7th. We go winless for remainder of the season. Scoring 5, conceding 22.

With what's happened, we should by al rights be totally and utterly shite. We are merely disorganised, ineffective and being very well beaten. Basically, it's pre season for us at the pointy end I'm afraid...

My prediction is that while we fail to press and play a lone striker with 4231, with this squad, we will continue to lose except against the teams who do not press us - such as our last two wins.

The regular season is a right off. Use the remaining league games to try and rebuild the team with the new players and starting the promising youth, try things from the training ground and focus on ACL and finals.

Win 2-3 games in the ACL and it's out of the group, win 2-3 games in the finals and that's championship. The biggest comfort is EVERY team this season has had bad patches and are beatable

Next season we will be much stronger, won't be loosing players and won't have ACL to deal with so a shoe in for the double!

But this is the dooms day thread so...

Finish 4th, make the grand final and loose to Brisbane!
Get creamed by the j-league team by 5 at home on a cold night with 3k in the stands and have to deal with everyone's stick as wanderers "rotation policy" and 3-4 FFA funded ACL only players make it out of the group stage with huge crowds and media attention

. doomsday you say ... well maybe for the players, my prophecy:

. the players learn that being a professional footballer is more than three hour sessions a day, a friendly lunch with your mates and then time for a latte at gloria jeans before hitting the beach*

. sure the fitness, strategy and run on the pitch will continue ... but will now be accompanied by double sessions on the basics of the game - passing, tackling and shooting. once these have been mastered, they can move to more advanced techniques like - moving into space, finding your teammates in space, holding the ball and keeping possession under pressure

* of course i have no real idea how much time and effort the boys put in ... and obviously confidence and cohesion are lacking ... but some remedial action is required

Hopefully doesnt come to this but...

Mossy becomes the latest victim in the A league coaches witch hunting. Booing and moss out signs will be evident at games.

Casuals fade and crowds dwindle to core support of around 5-6k

Newcastle fans get to rib us for years for our extremely poor and embarrassing ACL showing :(

I think this thread is rubbish.

I was just having a bit of a laugh in response to all the negative talk on twitter and facebook post game.

I mean, heck, I read one guy say that John Hutchinson, Josh Rose and Matt Simon should all retire on the spot. Like, holy hell, how can you actually think that is a solution to the current woes?

If you want me serious opinion, we'll bounce back, beat Welly, but still remain goal shy, and finish 3rd or 4th on the ladder and, if form goes our way, we'll still have a shout of the Toilet Seat™.
I do worry, though, that Mossy might find himself getting the boot if the poor form continues. But I doubt the Mariners would be knee jerk enough to kick him out before season's end.

Anyone who calls for Mossy out is a flog. He got put in mid season, the team has been eviscerated and now he has new guys that need to settle in. Even with all that we got up to third and I'll bet we'll see finals footy.
Lets see what he can do next year after a full pre-season with the current squad. Round 10 next season we will have an idea where he is at.
Stability in coaches has been one of our strengths, I'd hate to see us become one of those teams that chew up coaches every season.

We need to get back to the basics ...our defence is poor to say the least and Simon and Ibini well they were not required by their overseas sides but we resigned them ....time to recruit not rehash

Eeenfish, I get what the thread is about. I think it's smart to channel the expected freak outs, with a bit of a comic approach to a doomsday thread.
Bottom line, for what we have been through, we should not be anywhere near as good or as high on the table as we are. Hoping Mossy and the boys can pull off another miracle
and improve rapidly despite the massive changes to the side.
