dunno mate, Duke is still relatively green and im not sure of having two green strikers on the pitch at the same time. ibini is a lightweight and is too easily pushed off the ball. time will tell i guess

Close, I think Pedj is too important at RB and Ollie has experience as DM

Assuming no Pedj (injury rumours then we could possibly line with 6 players 21 or younger and 8 23 or younger as

---------------Ryan-----------------

Morton---Sainsbury---Anderson---Rose

-----------Monty-------Bozanic-----------

-WeeMac--------Caceres--------Ibini

---------------Duke

Perth are a very experienced side. Could be an historic win - or a bloodbath!!

I wouldn't start with Caceres and would probably revert to a 4-4-2 diamond for this one I don't think think the young guts have quite the physical presence of Macca to play alone against a physical Perth side - so

---------------Ryan-----------------

Morton---Sainsbury---Anderson---Rose

-----------------Monty------------

-WeeMac----------------------Bozanic
------------------Sterj-----------------
------------Duke------------Ibini
If Pedj is fit he comes straight in and that looks a pretty strong side.

Any news on Patrick? Given that he ism't mentioned in any of the 'theoretical"teams, am I correct in assuming he is still injured?

Assuming Dutchy is out - which I am if he pulled a groin only last week.
What i think we will play... (Similar to FFC)

---------------Ryan-----------------

Pedj---Sainsbury---Anderson---Rose

-----------Monty-------Bozanic-----------

-Mile--------Weemac--------Ibini

---------------Duke

That's actually a very good line up. And is as non dirsuptive as I think we can manage, which I think Arnie will focus on.

I think Pedj offers too much in RB to be moved elsewhere. Weemac was the last cover we employed as number 10 when Tommy was away and did an excellent job. With Hutch out, leaving Ibini at LM makes sense. Duke has been getting minutes upfront, and bringing in Sterj is now a no brainer.

Just worried with that front four, we might be susceptible to bullying in our front third. And PG will bully. Duke is not afraid, but it was against Perth last time where they managed to intimidate him into quieting down.

Bench... Kwas. I 'd like to see Caceres, but probs Pellegrino and... Morton or Griffiths?

Other possibility that I wouldn't mind seeing, is a change of formation against Perth. We have looked a little flat... 442 anyone?

---------------Ryan-----------------

Pedj---Sainsbury---Anderson---Rose

----------------Monty------------------

------Mile----------------Bozanic

--------------Weemac--------

------------Duke-----Ibini----------

1-4-2-3-1 is a solid defensive lineup.
Very simple to switch to 1-4-3-3 for attacking play.

I'd start with Bernie on his own up front. He's got be hungry for a goal and now is his chance to shine.
Rotate with Kwas and Mile during the game.

P.S If this was a Disney movie Wilko and Simmons would be getting off the plane at Sydney airport this morning! :)

Ok nothing else to do...

---------------matty------------
Pedj---Tesco---Ando----Rosey

------Sterj----------Monty-----

Weemac----Olly----Bernie

Kwas

Subs---Duke,Caceres, Morton Passfield

The back 5 pick themselves
Sterj & Monty give us plenty of experience with Sterj being able to go forward whilst Monty holds
I`d give Olly a run at 10.He`s had a few games off so he`ll be raring to go. He has experience in the middle of the park,he loves playing towards goal, he`s a lefty & he`ll keep them guessing.
I`d give Kwas a run mainly to take on a brutish Glory defense ( sorry Roy, desparate times) with Duke as an impact player.

I don't mind Kwas playing but I do wish Arnie would say to Sterjovski that he needs ten goals to ensure a new contract!
(and none of us have mentioned the other Pele...but Arnie has)

McGlinchey to captain Mariners against Glory
CENTRAL Coast coach Graham Arnold confirmed on Sunday that New Zealand international midfielder Michael McGlinchey will skipper his side in the Club’s final match of 2012 at home to Perth Glory on Monday evening.

McGlinchey has gathered a wealth of footballing experiences since he signed for the yellow and navy from Glasgow Celtic in 2009, and Arnold believes the responsibility of captaining the Mariners will have a positive effect on the diminutive Kiwi’s play against the purple-whites.

“I think Mikey is one of the best players in the A-League,” Arnold said following training on Sunday.

“He’s been to the World Cup, to the Olympics, he knows what pressure football is about. We need a little bit extra out of Mikey tomorrow night so hopefully the armband can help.”

McGlinchey is elated by Arnold’s decision to name him captain in the absence of the team’s regular leader John Hutchinson, who will be missing due to suspension. The team’s vice-captain Patrick Zwaanswijk will also miss the contest due to a groin complaint, as will attackers Daniel McBreen and Tomas Rogic (both suspended).

“I don’t really know what to say,” McGlinchey admitted. “It’s a great honour to be the stand-in captain for Hutch (Hutchinson).”

“I’ve been at the Club four years now and hopefully it can add to my game.”

As captain, it will be McGlinchey’s responsibility to guide a somewhat fresh-looking Mariners team around the Bluetongue Stadium surface against Ian Ferguson’s Glory side.

Indeed, Arnold outlined that it had always been his intent to rotate his squad throughout the busy, fixture-filled festive period, however the suspensions and injuries his team has received recently have made his selection task simpler.

“I was planning on making changes anyway to get some fresh legs into the side,” Arnold said. “The forced changes have made it easier for me.”

“Adam Kwasnik will come in. It’s time for Kwas. He’s had a few injuries and he’s a fan favourite here, and he’s always shown in the past that he’s a goalscorer. He’s looked sharp at training the last couple of weeks and he’s been eager for a chance, so he’ll get his opportunity.”

Arnold added that other experienced and capable professionals including Adriano Pellegrino and Oliver Bozanic were also likely to feature.

“Pelles (Pellegrino) has been a great pro,” Arnold said. “He’s had some tough times here with the fact that he hasn’t started that often and he’s been on the bench at times. But he brings great energy to the team and I am sure against his old team he will have a good impact.”

“Oli Bozanic has had a frustrating start to the season because of a knee injury in the off-season. He has got great pedigree and he has shown what he can do in the past. He knows what his job is.”

Current ticket sales indicate a crowd in excess of 15,000 could converge on Bluetongue Stadium for the New Year’s Eve blockbuster, and both Arnold and McGlinchey acknowledged playing Glory on the final day of 2012 represents a tough challenge.

“Perth are a difficult team to play against, and we’ve got a lot of respect for Perth Glory because they’ve got some wonderful players in their side. Any team that has Shane Smeltz in their side is danger,” Arnold said.

“They’re a dangerous side. Every time we play them it is a tight game. We know what to expect from them, they’re pretty physical,” McGlinchey added.
