but a long term squad member would genuinely help to win silverware

I ran into Chris down at Umina Oval (I don't know him personally) just a few days before the official Fury announcement and asked the obvious question if he was going to sign for us. His reply was he had already signed with the fury and had approached the mariners but was asked to trial????

I dont think adelaide are going to have much chocie in letting him go i think some european clubs would be interested. I think looking at players coming off contract at the end of next season is barking up the wrong tree from what i understand it is a guest signing and not a long term one (at this stage).

I think Sackwhacker is pretty much a done deal with the jets.
I would of loved to see him play for the mariners (even though he played for the jets) he can score a desent goal or two the only problem is his attiude.

Which players (forwards only) have recently retired from the larger overseas leagues that would be available? And please not Ronaldo there are not enough donut shops in town!! Does Perez have any contacts which would fit the bill?
