ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

i actually would be very happy with a big name guest for the run of summer home games, get some massive holiday crowds in, fill the joint for new years!

but a long term squad member would genuinely help to win silverware

Arnold not calling Payne earlier is the first thing im going to hold against him! ;)

No point talking of payne and williams since they wont be around until next year, and williams has a 2nd year on his contract.

I ran into Chris down at Umina Oval (I don't know him personally) just a few days before the official Fury announcement and asked the obvious question if he was going to sign for us. His reply was he had already signed with the fury and had approached the mariners but was asked to trial????

Minniecon is contracted until the end of the 2011/12 season. GCU would not be stupid enough to let him go. Great talent.

A-league strikers off-contract at the end of 2010/11 season-
(Give or take a few)

Lloyd Owusu (Fgn)
Francesco Monterosso (u21)
Matthew Leckie (u21)
Jean Carlo Solorzano (Fgn)
Reinaldo (Fgn)
Andrew Barisic (could be a decent option)
Gerald Sibon (Fgn)
John Aloisi
Mate Dugandzic (u21)
Robbie Kruse
Sasho Petrovski
Sean Rooney (u21)
Marko Jesic (u21)
Dyron Daal (Fgn)
Chris Payne (u21)
Robbie Fowler (Fgn)
Branko Jelic (Fgn)
Andrija Jukic (fantastic young player - plays more midfield tho)
Bruno Cazarine
Dylan Macallister
Mirjan Pavlovic (u21)

I dont think adelaide are going to have much chocie in letting him go i think some european clubs would be interested. I think looking at players coming off contract at the end of next season is barking up the wrong tree from what i understand it is a guest signing and not a long term one (at this stage).

Diego Forlan would leave Atletico Madrid if the right move came along, he has announced

Yeah definately alot of interest would
come from Europe but I meant Adelaide wouldn't let him go to a

I think Sackwhacker is pretty much a done deal with the jets.
I would of loved to see him play for the mariners (even though he played for the jets) he can score a desent goal or two the only problem is his attiude.

sackwacker and hutcho on the same team would be "interesting"

reminds me of one of my favorite sackwacker moments.. away to jets, final whistle, hutcho kicks the ball into the runts... throats get grabbed... classic derby

I doubt very much it would be sackwacker. Not a very popular person in this part of town. I did recall somewhere that there was a comment that the club was looking to sign a guest player over the summer period. If you want to put bums on seats it has to be better than Griffiths by far. Which players (forwards only) have recently retired from the larger overseas leagues that would be available? And please not Ronaldo there are not enough donut shops in town!! Does Perez have any contacts which would fit the bill?

how about this one.

In the vein of sackwhacker and understanding its going to be a guest stint and short term how about a name like Keiji Tamada or Shinji Okazaki from the J-League??

Stop drooling.

(we can only wish right and this is a forum)
