We really should just delete these threads, seems that the majority doesn't give a shit and it's just getting indexed on search engines now to make us all look like a bunch of loonies?

It's up to you mate, but as I've said before this is a Mariners forum which, surprisingly, has the purpose of CCM and football discussion.
There are ample other locations for this topic people can go to.
There is definitely a need to talk about this stuff in the world, but I don't see why it needs to be in a ccmfans forum

Agree.
They only tear down the culture on here. Too many who can't have a discussion on this topic without insulting others.

I don't think it's quite as simple as just ignoring the thread- if it detracts from the community on here, rather than builds it, then perhaps it's time to go.

I think this second attempt has shown that we can't be trusted with a politics thread, unfortunately

Which is a shame because that thread was enjoyable and respectful (mostly) until recently.

Even though I'm sure banning topics was never on the list of things you wanted to do on here.

Just delete it. It’s either delete the thread which isn’t needed or the poster needs time out. Or both

At the end of the day you just don’t need these hassles. It’s been shown when it pops up again no lesson is learned.

Thanks for the feedback.

This thread has run its course. The back-and-forth and off-the-rails responses aren’t helping anyone, and it’s clear that keeping this open isn’t benefiting the community. I’ll be locking the thread for now and will likely clean this one up – along with a few others – when I have time to get back to it.

If there’s genuine interest in structured or more carefully moderated political discussions in the future, I’m open to revisiting the idea – but for now, it’s better to put this to rest and focus on what makes the forum a better place for everyone.
