ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

New Owners?

Sponsorship of the League will need to be sorted before any serious sale negotiations can begin. I suspect we are really back go square one and are in for some months of doubt, uncertainty, rumours, goo feasting and pain.
There is a chance that I am wrong and that there is a serious buyer ready to go as soon as a price can be negotiated once the Clubs now what the distribution will be.
If not, I cannot see MC wasting any money that he does not have to and hope that he is at least willing to carry on with enough funding to keep the Club breathing as he has done this last season.
Until the sale goes through there will be very bleak times.
Winter is coming.

At least i will keep warm with a bottle of Glenfaclas 15!!! Thanks for the tip Rod its a ripper. I'm also loving Talisker Scotch as well. Any other suggestions?

If you are willing to pay for it the Talisker 18 is worth hunting down. For an affordable Islay, I have found Bowmore 12 to be very drinkable, a bit milder on the peat. Glenmorangie 10 is a very affordable malt that would be the best value for money Speyside (would still be acceptable at a much higher price).I
A lot depends on what style you prefer ranging from a heavily peated Islay to a delicate Speyside, and then you can add the effects of sherry or other casks used in the finishing.

Tis interesting perhaps wrong word, BUT I feel there are buyers out there at a certain price.

MC wants more

But I can't see the value of A-L clubs hugely increasing quickly, unless APL makes some overseas sales of the A-L, meaning MC needs to put in more money.

At some point, he needs to make a decision on I assume low bids, against waiting for APL to add value to the licence and his holding costs in the mean time.

Competition sponsor given the TEN / Paramount deal should be easier now with more value and I would add club sponsors as well should increase because of the new media deal..

I think in Staj MC got lucky ...Staj got lucky in some new players improved hugely... Staj needs credit for this but equally the players had to have the talent in the first place.... as we found with Musty and trying to replace him ... there are not a huge number of unfound players with massive ability not found to date ...

Heard murmuring’s about the Mounties club group being interested in purchasing us. They’ve already bought a couple RSL’s on the coast and apparently looking to have a stake in the region.
Couldn’t find the new owners thread.

Would be interesting what that would mean for games being prioritized & shown around local venues.

Mounties are a massive club, sorta sit between Liverpool and Cabramatta ...

They are a leagues club mainly but given were they are located do have an understanding of Football... could be the worst or best owner... I remember when Parramatta ran Parramatta Power in the old NSL.... was not a great success... having a bunch of leagueies in charge of a Football cubs needs IMO considerable conditions....

Mounties buying the Mariners and the Central Coast Leagues Club around the same time the Mariners get management rights for the stadium.

Now that would be a tasty little package for a club!

our board or theirs?

wasn’t specified to me tbh. All that was mentioned was that Mounties are interested in buying us. This persons info apparently comes from someone in the club.
I’m going to assume it’d be Mounties board deciding if they’ll make an offer. But it could also be their board meeting with ours.
They’ve apparently recently purchased halekulani in Budgiewoi and Wyong RSL.

if it does comes to fruition I’d hope they leave shaun in place because he does an incredible job. I agree with peoples concerns about rugby league people running football things.

it does excite me though, because if done correctly they could proceed with the development plans and fund the football side of things correctly.

I opened a thread on the WSW fans forum about Mounties and asked what they are like and the fed back has been mixed... but at one stage they said they tried to buy Marconi...

BTW isn't Wyrong RSL that club with a mega big Rugby League field....

WSW forum said they are always after pokies

Pokies are a blight on our society and on the coast they are stealing money from the old and poor.

i get why people hate pokies. I’m not a big fan myself. But at the end of the day (you might find this ignorant) it is each persons choice to play them and put their money through them. Don’t get me wrong I know how tough gambling addictions are…. But it is what it is. No one is forced to play them.

no that’s Wyong leagues club. The main club of the Wyong leagues group that owns wallarah bay and budgiewoi soccer club etc. Wyong RSL is smack bang in the middle of Wyong.
